One more update- Gekko now has a happy hour menu 5:30-7:00 everyday so I can eat all the same delicious sushi I crave all the time, at half the price! They have a pretty good reduced price menu with rolls, nigiri, and of course, libations :) Since…More »

A gourmet respite in the bustle of ATL airport. Think the opposite of airport fast food...varied menu of many food genres, from sushi to comfort food dishes with an asian fusion twist. The bar cocktail menu has some interesting sounding drinks- I…More »
Everyone knows what Whole Foods is like and you love it but hate the prices. This particular one is a little smaller but still has great selection of most of the things you find in a regular Whole Foods, including a giant salad and prepared foods…More »

Happy Hour 1/2 price menu- sold! I came here for Americanized sushi (or as my friend called it "Asian junk food") after work. Ra has its Happy Hour specials 7 days a week, which is a great deal. With the bass-thumping music, sleek modern decor,…More »
Cool vibe, with live music around the bar, but separate rooms in the side and back area that allow for a quieter meal.
I ordered my salmon medium rare but it came out medium well...like steaks, not all fish cooked are created equal...this was not…More »
I agree with Chad H. I was disappointed in the sushi and sashimi combo...not impressed at all with the cucumber roll, loosely rolled california roll, and the mediocre sashimi. Salad with ginger salad was gross and the miso soup was very watered…More »
Great value- lunch bento of miso soup, salad, a crunch roll and a spicy tuna roll for a grand total of $8.50! The tuna roll was nice and fresh, though a little loose and sloppily put together. The crunch roll's tempura shrimp was the crunch part,…More »

I seriously think our server was drunk. First, when we were finally seated (after being told to wait at the bar, and seating others before us, in a completely empty dining room), we were told of all the server's favorite items, which included…More »

Blech- warm mushy fish, as if the rice was not cooled enough and warmed around the fish...yes, i know sushi fish should be at room temperature but 65 degree room temp, not 80 degree room temp. The fish was not spoiled or off, but not great tasting…More »
Inman Park/Old 4th Ward (25)Inman Park and Old Fourth Ward! Trying out all the places near where I live...love this neighborhood. |
Making myself pretty (or at the very least- not scary) (10)I don't wake up looking like this...I gotta work at it. OK, not "work" per se, more like "pay" for it. |
Decatur (9)Tons of great places to eat & imbibe...all within walking distance of a square. |
Tastes of the Far East (20)Asian restaurants in Atlanta- I'm slowly compiling reviews from all the Asian restaurants I've tried in Atlanta- Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc...no 5-stars yet but plenty of 2-3-4 star places. |
Carbo Loading- Italian Style (Atlanta) (9)Italian dining in Atlanta has made me a little gun shy...while I love Italian food, I had a couple awful Italian food experiences when I first arrived in this city and usually end up at the same 2-3 Italian places I do like...so hopefully, making a list will encourage me to try a few more restaurants out there. Here's all of what I tried (minus the pizza places). |
Desert weekend getaway (11)Arizona vacation- Quick relaxing getaway, I need to make this a regular vacation destination! |
Party of one! Dining solo (19)Places in Atlanta where I've felt comfortable dining by myself. The only requirement is that there's a bar or small tables off to the side- nice bartenders, easy parking and good people watching areas also are a plus. For me personally, It's also nice to have no judgment or people staring if I want to order multiple dishes to try and bring leftovers home :) |
Restaurants to bring out-of-towners (14)Here's where I've brought family & friends visiting from out of town, who want some type of Atlanta food experience |
Being a tourist in Atlanta (13)I moved to Atlanta 2 years ago but I still enjoy exploring the city like a tourist. |
Dim Sum Quest- Atlanta (8)UPDATE: Found great dim sum!!!! See my last review on the list for Golden House.Original list description: I've pretty much given up on this one...I don't think great dim sum exists in Atlanta (especially a la carte and to go) so I'll have to settle for just good dim sum. |
