Wow. Still the best. One of the few destination restaurants here in San Diego.
The freshest fish in North America perhaps. Top notch quality.

They've done it. They got me hooked up and I'm putting up the last star. You really have to consider so many factors when evaluating sushi joints, in my mind they go 1) quality of fish 2) quality of other menu items 3) price 4) atmosphere

Went here a couple years back...I remember the food being very tasty and the omakase was well balanced. The dishes were stronger than the sushi. The atmosphere was really cool. Going to try his Philly version in a couple weeks....we'll see.

Food quality is top notch. An unassuming setting with a very traditional approach. Nothing fancy about the scene except the exceptional fish.
Highlights - included the uni, amaebi and hamachi.

This is one of the most expensive and consistently top-ranked sushi experiences in the GTA. I must admit that the food is just splendid. You have a choice of three menus with a different price level for each. These are inventive, creative and flow…More »
Pretty random joint in the middle of old town. Club-like atmosphere with a solid roster of unique specialty rolls.

Very comfy, dim lighting makes for an urban lounge feel.
This is the extensive of Japango but it doesn't quite match up and the prices are steep. The sushi/sashimi is fresh and delicious with great presentation. The oyster shooter was so-so. I did…More »
Okay...overdue to update given the health scare (google it and you'll know)...but I'm not ready to write this place off.

Great location next to Hyatt, tough competition next to Trulucks and Flemings.
The newest update to the menu certainly is an upgrade. Still quite expensive and there are better options than the sushi but a few things are bad.

Solid sushi fix if you're around Portland, Maine. The fish was fresh and the rolls were well constructed. Nothing spectacular and the salmon roe seemed a bit old. Not many options for sushi in this area.

Yeah yeah, it's pretty inside and they have all these funky rolls but the fish is just not quality and the price is crazy. If you want good sushi, forget it. If you want a cool place to hang and try some "interesting" fusion rolls. Okay.
I almost wanted to give this place a two-star because it is sooo overrated. It is discounted 50% after 10PM on Thurs-Sat. This is probably the only time worth going. I may be distorted because I really do enjoy sushi and have eaten in many spots in…More »
