For some reason I haven't tried the ice cream here, but the fat free chocolate yogurt is outstanding. The texture is so similar to ice cream and you don't miss any flavor at all. I guess that's why I've stuck to the yogurt. If their yogurt is this…More »

Always wondered how this location compared to the Larkin one... the Pho Ga is exactly the same, maybe with a bit more chicken. Same good stock and silky noodles.
I like this location more though, because of the lively ambiance. They play music and…More »

Update: 6/2/07 We ate here family style for a going away party last night. The shaking beef was overcooked, but the seabass was spot on! I prefer Thai papaya salad to PPQ's, not much of a kick for me at all. I guess it's still a nice refreshing…More »

The tea leaf salad is more on the authentic side here, no lettuce like at Burma Superstar. We had to ask for lemon though, weird. The sour soup was great and came with shrimp, which wasn't on the menu. The rangoon beef was just ok, tasted like an…More »

I always ate in the bar next door, to watch sports on the big screen. Decent sushi. I remember liking the scallop roll. The pizza is crap, tasted like Pizza Hut. Good place to go to watch the game.

I gave the jook (rice porridge) a shot here b/c of Lolia S.' recommendation. It's excellent, just as good as she described. The texture was nice and thick and they give you plenty of tasty preserved egg and pork. I tried a few of the dumplings and…More »
I wouldn't come here if I didn't live in the area. That being said, it's a pretty decent burrito but I wish they had more salsa choices. I end up going home and piling on more of my own jalapenos and hot sauce...Don't get the guacamole.
Update: 6/2/07 The fruit wasn't as fresh as previous visits. They've upgraded the furniture though, I wonder where all the money's going?

I had a chicken burger here once with fries. Definitely pass on the fries. They were nasty, like soaked in grease. The chicken wasn't much better. The beef or buffalo burgers might be the best bet.
We had the Orgasmica pizza. Nice thin crust, perfect amount of cheese, and tasty toppings. So good, I ate 4 slices.

Pho Quest (54)I appreciate a good pho broth. A broth more about the essence of the beef bones it was cooked with a light undertone of onions to complement and slightly sweeten the broth. I'm not too keen on too much anise or cloves, the less the better. This perfectly balanced pho broth should induce you to eat slowly, appreciating the savory goodness, and drink the broth to the last drop.... Oh yeah, fresh beef is a must! |
Taquerias (53)A few taquerias in the Bay that I've tried. As you can see my benchmark is "Al Pastor", marinated pork cooked on a spit. But some places don't actually use a spit anymore - sacrilege! |
