This might be the best ramen this side of the ocean but I think I'm splitting hairs because I like eating ramen at many places in the northwest.
I don't know why but my non-japanese friends love to be hypercritical of ramen. To me, ramen is like…More »

I'm not a ramen connoisseur, but I am of Japanese ancestry, and I have had ramen in Tokyo, so I feel somewhat qualified to judge the ramen at Samurai Noodle.
I've heard this place is the best ramen in Seattle. It's definitely tasty and worth checking…More »
I know what you're thinking: 5-stars? Wha? It's hard to quantify restaurants within a one-scale-fits-all rating, but I think Maekawa deserves 5 stars.
I'm so tired of all the Japanese restaurants with their long sushi lists and their anemic…More »
Wow, yummay in my tummay!
Prepare yourself for long lines, but the wait it worth it. Good prices. Good atmosphere. Good service. Longer menu than usual -- choose wisely.

Apparently some of my fellow yelpers have had bad experiences here. I can see how the seemingly low-paid staff may make a few mistakes here and there. But overall, I think this is a good place to get a cheap, yummy bowl of ramen.
I think people…More »
Traditional Japanese-American fare served by Japanese-Americans to Japanese-Americans.
The menu was longer than normal, which I appreciated. The ramen was above average. The sushi was pretty good.

Who would've thought that Boom Noodle would make such a tasty ramen? Not me. But then I tried it and I thought "A chain restaurant that makes yummy ramen for a cheap price? Now I've seen everything."
It's a pleasant, hip, fun noodle joint plus some good tapas to choose from. I like it. They have… Read more »
Another awesome little ramen joint in the West End. There are so many kick-butt ramen joints within 2 blocks of Robson and Denman! This neighborhood is half the reason I come to Van.

If you want ramen and you're in the north end, this is a solid choice.
Small, cozy, mom and pop ramen joint. Smells so good! Very standard ramen. No surprises. No disappointments. Totally packed.

Good ramen. Apparently it's a Chinese dude who had a ramen joint in Tokyo and then moved it to Seattle. Hence the "Fu Lin" + ramen. Confusing, I know. Most people are all like, "Fu Lin has ramen? Isn't it like, a Chinese restaurant?" And then…More »
Modern Tokyo feel. Good service. It's reasonably priced Japanese fusion tapas.
Some of it is awesome and some of it is just okay. It depends on what you order.

At first I thought, this ramen is more like pho than ramen. But I ate it anyway. And I was pleasantly surprised. It actually wasn't that bad. It's not really the sort of ramen I usually crave with all the fatty soup and such, but the noodles at…More »

It's not bad, but with all the other Japanese restaurants in Seattle, I don't see why one would come here... unless you live nearby and don't own a car. The food isn't bad. The sushi is edible.
The ramen is pretty bad though -- I wouldn't even…More »
