One of the few pub patios in the area that gets a fair amount of sun in the summer (a lot of the rest are shady from all the tall buildings in the area).
For a place that doesn't have a ton of seating inside on the main floor we usually manage to find…More »

Right above Absolute Comedy, The Rose and Crown is a pub that seems to be targeted at two audiences - soccer/rugby fans during the day (attracts a bit of an older crowd), and the 21-25 year old crowd in the evening, though you can always find your…More »

The Unicorn is pretty massive pub with tons of seating, perfect if you're going out with a bigger group of people. Despite the size it still manages that dark dank pub feel without being grimy.
The clientele varies massively and is pretty hard to peg…More »
The Granite Brewery surprised me. I have walked by this place a hundred times before and my impression from the outside has always been that it's just an old dive desperately in need of a makeover that never gets much business. The reality is…More »

In terms of set up, they got this place right. They have a nice patio outside for evenings in the summer (not great for the day though because it is shady) and a mix of high top tables and bench seating inside.

This place is NOT my favourite pub in the area, it just always feels a bit dirty. I love a good dark dank pub but this one misses the mark feeling grungy and open rather than dark and cozy.
It's pretty small inside. I've ordered Nachoes and wings here…More »

30-Day-Challenge (30)Toronto's 30 day challenge - 30 reviews in the month of October. It should be a review a day, but I fell off the bandwagon at day 22 due to a vacation to the states with little to no access to internet. I'm going to keep going anyway, just for sh*ts and giggles.http://www.yelp.ca/eve... |

Waterloo (19)I lived in Waterloo for four solid years during university (summers, winters, springs and falls). Here are some of the places in the city I frequented.Don't be put off by all the 4 and 5 star reviews, I just haven't gotten around to reviewing the mediocre pubs and restaurants around the universities. |

Best Places to go on a Date (8)A comedy show, a music performance at a coffee shop, a picnic with fresh cheese, an evening at a museum, or walk through a funky part of town finished with a coffee (or beer) on a patio... these are some great date ideas. |
GoodLife Fitness (9)My opinion on the GoodLife gyms around the city. I don't really have a 'home' gym, instead I work out where ever I'm closest to that day. |
