I really like this Holiday Inn Express (and I've stayed at lots of 'em).
Yes, this location is a suburb of Vancouver (you will need to drive 20 mins to get downtown) but we were driving in and wanted to find a safe location with free parking, an…More »
The coolest tour in Seattle, in my opinion. I hit this tour any time I'm in town with friends who have never been. You'll learn about the history of the city as well as get some exercise (wear comfortable shoes). Highly recommended.

I used to live in Chicago, but never did any of the tourist stuff.... When I was back in town with a friend, last weekend, I decided to try one of these tours.
It was pretty awesome.

We stayed here for Lollapalooza, last weekend. Why? Because it was hands down the cheapest non-motel within a 30 mile radius of Chicago. It was $89 a night (via some internet deal, we later found out guests who booked on the phone or through AAA paid…More »
This Best Western is pretty decent. For a reasonble price, you get awesome views, good service and what was hands-down the best pool/spa combo of all the similarly priced hotels I stayed in on a recent trip. No seriously, their pool and spa rocked my…More »
This was the best deal we could find in downtown Portland, without resorting to something commonly booked by streetwalkers. It was also easy to find and quite nice.
Pro's:
- location
- we booked one of their suites, which entails a separate bedroom,…More »
I've stayed here many times, over the past 7 or so years. It's got a prime location, is clean and CHEAP. It's within walking distance of the space needle and key arena and is totally convenient. The rooms are pretty large and the service is always…More »
This is a reasonably priced place to stay in Calistoga. Is it luxurious? Not by any means; it is classed as a motel and they mean it. The only thing that sets it above a Super 8 is the large soaking tubs and attached spa facility. Yes, it's clean and…More »

I've done the Locks cruise (2.5 hours) and had a pretty good time. It's a fun way to take in the views and definitely photo op-a-rific. I do recall it being a bit windy/chilly, so layering up is advised. The staff was nice and the tour commentary was…More »
Newark isn't exactly the mecca of entertainment and culture, but it happens to be where I grew up and this remains the only affordable (yet nonscummy) option in town. Actually, it's probably the cheapest non-scummy hotel in a 20 mile radius. If you…More »
Cheap is good and therefore Southwest is king.
If you want to save $100+ and are willing to show up at the buttcrack of dawn to claim your stake in the "A" line so that you can make a mad dash to get a decent seat, you will love Southwest. They…More »
It's a tiny store in the Petaluma outlet mall, but some good deals can be found. I got a bunch of really cute luggage at a pretty sizable discount here, a few years back.
I stayed here last weekend, with friends. It's definitely a step above the class of hotel I usually stay in, so hooray for that.
Likes: big fuzzy robes in the bathroom, comfy beds, huge flat screen tv, really good shower, decent bar (and bar staff)

This is an easy way to get a glimpse of the city without putting forth much effort. It's also loud, campy and geared towards the easily amused and rarely embarrassed. I have taken this tour a couple times and cringe when we go through town and…More »
At the super last minute (and by last minute, I mean two weeks in advance rather than my usual OCD two months of pre-planning) I decided to go to Chicago for Lollapalooza this year. I have flown to/from Chicago dozens of times. I have never paid more…More »
This place is really cheap, slightly ghetto and has a severely inconvenient location. You have to take a $15 cab ride just to get to the strip. The clientle seems to consist mostly of barely-legal thugs and elderly drunks, but that's what you get…More »
I really don't like this place. The rooms are musty and gross, the food is on par with Denny's and it gives me the creeps. There are always huuuge crowds and tons of noise. It sort of feels like the Motel 6 of Vegas. Spend an extra $20 and book a…More »
This is my (new) favorite of all the Seattle hotels I've stayed in, so far.
The location is excellent - it's a couple blocks from the Space Needle, EMP, tram, etc. If you get a room on a side of the building other than the side we were stuck with, you…More »
This hotel was a total letdown. First of all, it's not technically IN Grants Pass - it's about 10 miles past it (in Rogue River). This was mainly impactful of our dining options, upon our evening check-in. Everything near the hotel closed very early.…More »
