Finally got back to The Corner with the intention of trying some of the food. I was not disappointed! For starters, there's an incredible happy hour with drinks and appetizers from 5-7. I kind of hate letting the cat out of the bag on that one. I'll…More »

Never had a sit-down dinner here, but I remember the bar food being good from a happy hour I went to a year or so ago. Went last night and threw back a pretty delish sangria like nobody's business. The server told me what was in it but after the…More »

First of all, I LOVE the bar. It's so swanky and there is always at least one bartender who is super attractive. I don't know about you but that equals points in my book. The cocktails are good, and the happy hour specials are the jam, but the…More »

Went to the Hut on Wednesday night with two of my girlfriends. We sat on the outside deck which was nice, although a combination of the overhead lights and fan caused a blacklight effect that was giving me an intense headache. Luckily, someone…More »

Walking through the garden on a hot and humid Friday night, I was relieved to be sitting inside. But only because of the weather. The garden itself is a wonderland of flora, lights and the sounds of trickling water. Truly magical.
Inside, the decor…More »

The boyfriend and I had some errands to run on Delaware Ave, so we wanted a low-key place with happy hour specials in that general area for dinner. I suggested Catahoula, despite my reservations from my last visit back in December. Since Art had…More »

This review is long overdue but I didn't want to leave SW out of my Vegas chronicles, since our meal there was one of the best parts of my friend's bachelorette weekend earlier this month.

Bar Dupont is one of my favorite hangouts while in DC. On a Sunday afternoon, it can be a relaxing place to just have a glass of wine and watch the world go by. The bar is surrounded by windows and sits right on Dupont Circle, so the views are…More »

Birreria gets three stars instead of four solely because of the service (i.e., the lack of) on the day of my visit. We ascended to Birreria from the depths of the overcrowded hell that was Eataly during the holiday season. Surprisingly, the masses…More »

What can be said that hasn't been said already? The Philadelphia Museum of Art is a landmark in Philadelphia and a beautiful place to spend an afternoon while taking in some culture.

Day 2 of Healdsburg had us biking to Wilson Winery, a nice 3ish mile ride from the center of town. We arrived on a Monday around noon, armed with some supplies from the nearby grocery. Tastings are $5/person, and the wine list is heavy on Zins. I…More »
While it wasn't nearly as sunny as the current biz listing photo on the day of my visit, the rain didn't take away from the beauty that is Michel-Schlumberger Winery. Even with the construction going on! Fact is, the grounds are just lovely. There's…More »
Lord knows we needed an alternative to McFadden's at the Ballpark down by the stadiums. Thank goodness for the multi-bar megaplex, albeit poorly-named, Xfinity Live! (Hey Comcast: we get it, this is your brainchild. No need to be a whore about it,…More »
Awesome tasting room, and a very cool story behind Medlock Ames, an organic vineyard that uses forces of nature over machinery to cultivate their grapes.

Five stars to Colleen C for recommending this vineyard, which happens to be her beau's family winery. We enjoyed the winding drive to our destination, despite the rainy conditions on that day. Once we arrived, the scenery was gorgeous.…More »
This is one of the most beautiful parks I've ever enjoyed. Winding paths, multi-levels, fountains, reflecting ponds and an abundance of flora are omnipresent about the park.
Enjoy the people watching at DuPont; enjoy serenity at Meridian Hill.
