Whew. Back to 5 stars, with yet another great meal.
Bacon-wrapped calf brains and foie gras terrine for starts and both impeccable. Mains of Cardamum hen and Nori tuna, both served with seasonal root veggies.
Service was outstanding - including a…More »

Just confirmed what I already knew. Beautiful place. Great grounds for strolling around. Bed & Breakfast, fine dining restaurant, wine tastings, etc.
Rooms are huge with old school trimmings with working fireplaces.

It's been a while since I've visited this spot, but I find it a charming little place.
Lovely duck and beef dishes, but the fish here is delectable (I won't normally eat fish in a resto, as I'd rather cook it myself and screw up than let someone else…More »

Another fantastic meal. Tried the Calamari to start and Lamb T-Bone with ravioli. The starter was good - seasoned very well with a light broth. Entree - The best lamb I've ever had (sorry, mum). Perfectly cooked, the right amount of pink showing.…More »

Oleg is my new best friend.
Came in here for some foie gras. Left with foie gras, homemade lobster bisque, a rabbit paté, cured bison and a duck breast.

Great place to find the stuff not available in grocery stores. Much better quality as well.
Sushi grade tuna steaks I ordered had to be close to an 1.5 inches thick. The prices reflect the quality and lets just leave it at that. Nice cuts of beef,…More »

I really dug the food here. We were lucky enough to score a 10 person table last minute facing the acid-trippy waterfall.
Charcuterie board was excellent and I would not share the foie gras, using a dull knife in sweeping motions to fend people off.

Ate here with the in-laws.
Shared the large charcuterie - verrrrrry thin slices of a few meats; tasty but too small for more than two to share.
I loved my burger, as I got to have it rare. The rest of us enjoyed as well. Nice wine list too.

We hit N9ne prior to schmoozing in the Playboy club.

French Places (20)I've always had a fetish for French eateries. Full-fledged restos, bistros or boites - it doesn't matter. I'm just getting around to as many as possible. But cut me some slack; I'm on the case and I'm going as fast as my lazy ass can.Maybe it's b/c I judge everyone / everything and generally think I'm better than everyone else. It's the frenchie in me! |
