Local Flavor
Neighbourhood: Jefferson Park
My home neighborhood for almost 11 years. When I bought here, this area was a place completely unfamiliar to me (I lived in Lincoln Park at the time.) But I liked the house I picked out and it was close to my work, so I thought why not. It is a…More »
This park is the gem of my neoghborhood and one of the loveliest in the city. It is divided into two pieces. Northern area has a pretty old fieldhouse, a pool and other general amenities. Southern park, in addition to tennis and basketball courts,…More »

Post Offices
Neighbourhood: Forest Glen
This little post office branch is one of the nicer ones in Chicago. It is usually not busy, and the employees are very helpful. Much preferred over the North Park and Jefferson Park post offices!

Dry Cleaning & Laundry
Neighbourhood: North Park
Good cleaner and excellent alterations. While plant is not on premises they are reasonably prompt.
Not the cheapest place to board, but very clean and very professional. Cages are large and roomy and you can save by boarding two dogs together. Doggie day care is offered here and I have used once. My two boxers came home and slept for most of…More »

Auto Detailing
Neighbourhood: Irving Park
Reasonable car wash with had detailing. Very pleasant service. This is the car wash I use when I want a bit more than the rinsing provided by the kind in gas stations.
Neighbourhoods: Marquette Park, Chicago Lawn
I have been using them to service my boiler for quite a long time now. Technicians are friendly and accurate and they don't rip you off. The only complaint I have about them is that they sometimes cancel or reschedule non-emergency appointments.
An important gallery (on a worldwide scale), with some unique specialty collections: the Henry Moore plasters and maquettes, the wonderful medieval miniatures in the Thompson collection, and a terrific collection of Canadian and First Nations art.…More »
I have to disagree with Mike S. - I DO feel it compares favourably with Central Park! As a resident of the area, I feel highly privileged to have it on my doorstep. As Aeryn stated, it offers lots of recreation opportunities but there are nice…More »
Giving it four stars as my partner almost always wins on their machines! It's a pleasant place for a get away and the architecture is kind of cute.
