After a particularly harrowing journey on the tube, I saw a light on in the Department of Coffee and Social Affairs last Saturday afternoon and popped in for a hot chocolate. A little heart was made in my cup (refer to posted photo) which went a long…More »

You won't find refried beans or sour cream that reminds you of homemade Mexican crema here (theirs is a bit more like yogurt.)

On the somewhat rare occasion when I spend a week or more at a stretch in my London flat, I relish the ordinary pleasures of a more stationary life: preparing pots of soup and chili, Astanga yoga, visits to the green grocer, (half) pints of Guinness…More »

Given its proximity to my flat, I pop into Kate Kanzier with some frequency. I'm always pleasantly surprised by the selection and fair pricing (especially the deeply discounted sale shoes) but until my most recent visit I'd never found a pair I…More »

I'm pretty keen on this new addition to Leather Lane after having a satisfyingly spicy green tofu curry there for lunch today. The menu is pan Asian so you'll find a bit of everything from soups like miso and tom yum to nasi goreng and hoison duck…More »
