"Pork Pump".
Not too sure which part of the pig the "pork pump" comes out of, but you gotta try this dish. It's this braised porky awesomeness that's accompanied with some sort of sweet/savory sauce (if you're Filipino.. think humba or paksiw). Put…More »

you can find great thai restaurants all around LA, but what sets krua thai apart (other than their delicious food) are their smoothies.
pineapple/coconut smoothie with no boba. you can find me here all summer.
loteria grill was ok.
the chicharron de queso is a great appetizer.
the chicken mole enchiladas were good too.
other than that, everything else was not memorable.

but there's something nostalgic about biting into a french dip sandwich after celebrating a laker win or trying to get over a laker loss at staples center.

great egg salad sandwich. love that this place is close to work. this chilled sandwich is perfect for a hot summer day.
i hear they have good macarons and coffee too.
Sorry Din Tai Fung, but you're overrated. The dumplings may be good, but your service BLOWS. In fact, the service here keeps me from coming back. Serving us cold food, forgetting to refill our water, and then having us wait til Christmas for the…More »

large godmother sandwich w/ the works and some pasta salad!
seems like the guys at the deli have personal friendships with the customers here. they didn't know me, but talked to me like i was a homie.
Great lunchtime spot if you work in Arcadia/Pasadena. The first time I've ever had a Chinese beef roll was at this place. Their ratio of beef to cilantro is just right.
I love Asian spots like this. You pay for great food at dirt cheap prices.

Eh. They were ok. Not really a big fan of crunchy shelled tacos.
Beef brisket. Rib tips. Mac n cheese. Greens. Baked beans. Cornbread. Sweet potato pie.
Their service makes you feel like you're a part of their family.
One of the best hole in the wall BBQ spots in LA. Hands down.

Food and coffee were all overpriced. Everyone had a Mac.. I was sporting a Toshiba. Hipsters were looking at me funny. Lesson learned.
Next time, i'll bring a mac and my sweet hipster beard.
Got the hollenback burrito. Kinda bland. Had to douse it with a shtload of hot sauce. That ruined my taste buds.

Breakfast was good, and so were the donuts (especially the maple bacon). The donut had a perfect sweet and salty balance. They also have a samoa (of girl scout cookie fame) donut, which tastes exactly like the cookie, but in donut form.

Eating a cheese on a stick always brings me back to my childhood. Since then, they've gotten a lot more expensive (and choadier). Still, I'd fork over a couple extra bucks over a 99 cent corndog at AM/PM any day.
Love that this place is open 24 hrs, but I don't think I'll be making the journey to Glendora at 3am just to buy a strawberry donut. In fact, this strawberry donut is just ok, kinda tart. I'd wanna taste more of their other fruity donuts.
