I second most of the other reviews- great, affordable food (especially the mussels au poivre with frites), comfortable modern atmosphere. Service, like everywhere else in Montreal, can be iffy at times but I've never had any real issues. There's a…More »

Hair Salons
OMG, home to my favorite stylist Emilie- it's because of her that I've been searching almost 8 years for a salon closer to home (Boston) that I like but still travel 5 hours to Montreal for a haircut. Though the USD-CAD exchange rate no longer makes…More »
It's been awhile since I've eaten here but I remember this was always a "go-to" place. Large pasta dishes, ok service, good drinks, great location (Rue St. Laurent), fun in the summer when all the windows are thrown open.
Come here early or all the yummy croissants will be GONE...my faves are the apricot, apple, chocolate or the original plain croissant. Lots of mousse cakes and pastries too that are absolutely divine.
One of THE most beautiful churches I've ever seen...and I've been to some of the most famous cathedrals in Europe. The nave has intricately carved spiral stairs, blue stained glass windows...take the tour. Don't forget to see the wedding chapel…More »
What a cool store for modern and chic home decor- it's divided into colors! Unique dishes and other kitchen and living room items and not too expensive. Located in a convenient section of the new Brossard mall, easy parking.

Came back for the cupcakes- those are good too! I recommend the vanilla w/ salty caramel, as well as the choco-orange. Most of my fellow samplers liked the red velvet as well. We bought an assortment of 12 for a birthday dinner- all were…More »
YUM- litchi sorbet is one of the most delicious sorbets I've ever tasted- sweet but not artificially… Read more »

Great little shop in a cute neighborhood north of downtown- long list of sorbet flavors, some of which I did not recognize (What's "lulo"? Apparently, it's a South American fruit, like a kiwi in flavor). I had the pear sorbet- smooth, sweet and…More »
Fresh noodles, dumplings and wontons= yummy lunch. This place is the restaurant front of a real noodle factory so you know their noodles have to be good- and they are! We ordered the shanghai noodles with chicken, along with a big bowl of spicy…More »
When a bagel place only sells 3 types of bagels, with no frills (no giant tubs of cream cheese, no line of workers preparing bagel sandwiches), and has a constant line of bagels going in and out of the oven (fun to watch, by the way)...you know it…More »
New location for Tonic, now known as Tonic Aveda. This new(ish) hair-only location on St. Denis features the same Aveda product focus, comfy & cushy beds at their hairwash stations (instead of chairs- still the best idea ever and makes me wonder why…More »
I love outdoor markets- I think this one rivals the one in San Francisco's Ferry Building farmers market. As with all farmers markets, it's dominated by locally grown goods, though you have to read the signs/labels carefully, as there *are* some…More »

3-stars are mainly for Le Shack's location and the good fries. Le Shack (a great name by the way!) is located at the base of Tremblant- since my visit was in the summer, we sat on the terrace that overlooked a concert stage and was great for people…More »
Love this Roots 73 location- I've been here several times and I always walk out with a bag full of purchases- great deals at this outlet store! You can get the usual Roots goods- t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags, accessories, all at discounted prices.…More »
Another Canadian store where I always walk out with lots of deals- I think the store is owned by the same company that owns Victoria's secret...La Senza is kinda like the "everyday" version of V.S., both style-wise and on the wallet. I usually hit…More »

Being a tourist in Atlanta (11)I moved to Atlanta 2 years ago but I still enjoy exploring the city like a tourist. |
Dim Sum Quest- Atlanta (8)UPDATE: Found great dim sum!!!! See my last review on the list for Golden House.Original list description: I've pretty much given up on this one...I don't think great dim sum exists in Atlanta (especially a la carte and to go) so I'll have to settle for just good dim sum. |
See a show! (15)Music, dance,comedy, theater, movies...support the arts! |
Sushi Quest- Atlanta (9)Another of my food quests- to find great fresh sushi in Atlanta without breaking the bank. I think I've come pretty close with Gekko...but it took a lot of trial and error at other sushi joints before I found it. Still have a bunch of Yelp sushi favorites to try as well... |
Inman Park/Old 4th Ward (19)Inman Park (and part of Old Fourth Ward)! Trying out all the places near where I live...love this neighborhood. |
Tastes of the Far East (12)Asian restaurants in Atlanta- I'm slowly compiling reviews from all the Asian restaurants I've tried in Atlanta- Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc...no 5-stars yet but plenty of 2-3-4 star places. |
Pizza Quest- Atlanta (9)Still trying to find edible pizza in Atlanta... There are a couple solid options, and definitely more than a few duds, but none that rival the heavenly-ness of pizza from my Northeast homeland. |
I LoVermont! (Northern VT) (9)I grew up in central Vermont and apparently, spend alot of time here skiing and passing through. Here are some of the places I've been (and some I keep going back to)...the Northern VT version focuses on Middlebury, Waterbury, and areas around the Mad River Valley. |
Places I have to visit when I go back to Boston (8)When my time in Boston is limited, I go here. |
