This is going to be a bit of a sad one. As it turned out after I wrote that last review, my dog had not a simple UTI, but full-blown cancer of the kidneys. The tests to find this out were not cheap, as they never are, but at least we were able to get…More »
I'm very impressed with my new veterinarian. I took my dog in because he was showing signs of a UTI,… Read more »
I've been taking my dog to the vet here for about a year now. I think they provide great service and they're so good with my dog, who isn't the easiest beast to handle, but they're so expensive. Last year, treating a couple of minor ailments cost…More »

I can't remember when I've been so excited to write a review. I almost couldn't wait to finish the course before writing it.
Because I'm that dog owner. The one with the dog that goes a little nuts when it sees another dog. The one holding back my dog…More »
Tisol rocks. They have everything my dog needs and that I have to buy for her, from my preferred dog food in a "light" variety that Bosley's won't carry unless I special order (psshh to that noise) to the LED glow-in-the-dark throwing balls we need…More »
I've been really glad to see this store grow and change over the last few months. They still carry a great array of natural dog foods and treats (and cat stuff as well), and have expanded the number of toys and accessories.
I also like the personal…More »
This is a fairly new shop in New Westminster focusing on natural pet foods for dogs, and cats too.… Read more »
The location is good and they stock all the food, toys, treats, and accessories I could ask for, but my enjoyment and willingness to go in greatly depends on who is on shift at the time. There is one woman who seems really nice, a couple others who…More »

If Queen's Park were a muffin, it would the kind that has everything in it but still tastes pretty darned good. It's got recreational facilities: paved and gravel trails for walking and biking, a fitness loop, two arenas, a baseball stadium, and a…More »
This park, located at the foot of Cumberland Street, is a pretty place to walk along the Fraser River and to wave at the frequent trains that go by. It also has a bit of dark history - the fishing pier and old house near the entrance were formerly…More »
Glenbrook Ravine isn't much more than a gravel trail in a wooded ravine that cuts between the old BC Pen and Woodlands sites in New Westminster. Not a lot of people visit, though, so it's a nice place to walk when you'd like to be alone.
The pathway…More »
Robert Burnaby Park is a bit hidden away, but it's worth seeking out. It's located on a hillside that slopes down from near Edmonds Street to the Trans Canada Highway, and you'll definitely get a workout hiking up and down the forested trails…More »
Surrey. Yes, Surrey. (13)Finds in the much-maligned big city. |
Vacation in Washington State (18)I love a local vacation. Washington is so close to BC, yet has cheaper shopping and better customer service overall, plus the same fabulous West Coast scenery. |
Shopping for food (21)I love to cook, so food shopping is my favourite type of shopping, from big grocery stores for the everyday stuff to specialty shops for Wow factor ingredients. I like it local too. |
Adventures with Groupon (8)The end results of getting tempted by online deals and social coupons. |
Store pets (6)Visits with cats and dogs who live in retail land. Only by shopping the indies can you have these encounters, by the way! |
Diners (14)All you need is fries... and grease ... and bacon. |
Can't talk, eating (3)The multi-tasking reviews ... food so good, I just gotta write about it now. |
Two sticks and a ball (4)Dealers in needles and yarn for my knitting habit. What did you think I was talking about? |
Playing House (5)In which I try to grow up and stop living like a student. |
Bright Lights, Royal City (50)Places to go and things to do in New Westminster, BC. It's a weird place but it kinds of grows on you after awhile. |
