I see ROTD and think of LOTR

Well, I guess two points make a line, three make a triangle, four a quadrangle and also a list!

This is my next addition to my Best of St. Clair West list but I'm hesitant to rave about this place not because it isn't worth the four stars, but because I don't want to let the secret out.

I don't want to tell you about the chicken sangwiches.…More »

Wow, I get to be the first to review a place!?!

I feel the same way as in my Da Maria review about letting the secret out about this little gem of a store.  I discovered this place B.Y. (before Yelp) this January when I was on my winter boot quest.…More »

Is it possible to give a 3.5?  That's what I really mean.  It was sort of our own fault for deciding on getting takeout from here when we were around the corner at the Petsmart and Home Depot, driving almost all the way home in the west-end when we…More »

I first tried a Gryfe bagel a few weeks ago from Fiesta Farms as per Matthew S's tip and was totally wowed by it. So much so that anytime my errands take me close to the 401 I'll make sure to get off at Bathurst (only westbound 401 though!) and pick…More »

This is probably one of the best things to happen to the neighbourhood in recent history.  Grand opening was November 2008 and it hasn't looked back since.

The space is a reclaimed TTC barn and has five 'barns'  each labeled with giant steel…More »

My hair is straight.  Really, really straight.  So straight that the record player screeches to a stop when I walk in to Curl Ambassadors, an establishment filled with curly-haired staff and curly-haired clients, one rainy Saturday afternoon.  And…More »

Trade Secrets (photography) (2)

But not so secret anymore.  Here are the businesses that help me better my photography business.  (Started Jan '11 - sorry just two things right now.  I've just been so secretive about my other places so stay tuned).

My Fair St. Clair West (8)

Non-food related reviews for St. Clair West between Bathurst and Dufferin.  Only the good stuff.

Fool me once, shame on me. (2)

A list to remind myself of places not to bother with again.

Boring reviews (3 stars) (5)

I realize that I don't have many 3 star reviews because they are boring to write.  I will try to be a good yelper and catch up a bit and also make a list while I am at it.  These aren't all my 3 star reviews but they were all a chore to write.

If my dogs could type... (9)

they would yelp (woof?) about these places.  Kafrey and Six are two active, fun-loving, large mutts who may look like they love everything but actually have very discriminating taste.

Eat, Drink, St. Clair West (8)

It's a good thing I like to cook or else I'd be fat and broke from these places!

Would YOU share the last bite? (4)

The food at these places are so enjoyable that I wouldn't even consider sharing the last bite with my sweet little baby girl.  (Don't worry, the kid is far from deprived, it's just that the last morsel is to be enjoyed for myself).

Down-East Bound (5)

Just about every year for the past five years we've driven down to New Brunswick for a visit.  Here are some of the places we enjoy.

The Stockyards Area (5)

No, not the BBQ joint I frequent.  I'm referring to that area north of the Junction deep in the western wilds of St. Clair where the 512 ends and where there is a touch of suburban big-box sprawl.

Tim-hits and tim-misses (3)

Yes their coffee tastes like dishwater but you can't escape this Canadian institution.  Some locations are better than others.  These are the ones I know.
