Finally, a real CRAB cake. Not a crab & filler cake. Not a faux crab & cracker cake. A Craaab Cake. Crab cake. Yum.
The Whole in the Wall is still kinda hard to find b/c, though it's in a development, it is on the side and their permanent sign isn't…More »

Red Velvet Waffles. S'mores French Toast. I love how when it comes to breakfast, you can add tons of junkfood to any staple and suddenly it's a perfectly acceptable meal. It's like calling something a muffin instead of a cupcake...no guilt when you…More »
Cannot go wrong with these NY pies and baked dishes. Great for sharing. Family friendly and fast paced but they dont rush you. Chicken roll is awesome. Catering is a bit pricey but it IS good food! NOTE: not taking Amex anymore.
This place is to chicken tenders what In-N-Out is to burgers. Hands down, the best tenders around. Juicy. Big. Great flavor and only the smallest amount of well seasoned breading. Great fries - though they are sized for Polly Pocket and not human…More »
At the end of my first pregnancy I was craving two things: Guinness and a Big League dog. I very rarely drink and that odd craving wasn't gonna happen but when my doc said I could indulge in the Big League, I was in NY hot dog nirvana. The burgers…More »
The food is reeaallly good. I have not yet had something I didn't like but the prices seem to keep going up. Hubby and I went w/our toddler son and it was $40 bucks for a small order of tenders, his rib dinner and my son's grilled cheese. The food is…More »
Everyone who has tasted MJ's cakes agrees w/the following statement: Best Freakin'' buttercream EVER!!! I swear, she puts opiates in her frosting... or she's some sorta Jonestown mind control guru b/c her cakes put you into a happy, sugar induced…More »
Listen carefully b/c this is HIGH praise from a Southern California girl: Almost as good as In-N-Out. As close as you will get to SoCal heaven. Great burgers, simple menu, friendly service. Fast but they won't rush you if you are trying to decide on…More »

Seriously? Am I really seeing this? I have reached PMS nirvana. This Francophile has found sweet gastronomic heaven. My dear friend/fellow food/shoe/book junkie and I popped our Amelie's cherry(tart) late on Friday night and were pleasantly surprised…More »

Too Sweet or Not Too Sweet? That is the Million Dollar Question. (9)Places to satisfy your sweet tooth, your PMS cravings or purchase treats for your honey & score BIG.Amelie's is serious, unadulterated, TouchMyFoodNDie pastries. La Patisserie's ChocChocChip cake will make you smack your mama on your way back for seconds.Their wedding cakes taste uhmayzing and are not only beautiful but well priced. You can't go wrong w/a mom (no pop) shop called MJ's Sugar Shack. My husband doesn't like buttercream (huge character flaw) but MJ's is the exception. If you appreciate fruit flavored cakes & whipped frosting, don't pass up The Bakery Shoppe. Cakes sold whole or by the slice...dangerous as you can easily bring home three or four flavors to taste and POOF! All gone! Avoid: Hansel & Gretel (University). No only is their customer service sucko, their cake is dry. Crumbley. No bueno. The best Chocolate Shuthefrontdoor, Girls' Night Out Cake is from IKEA. Only sold by the slice in the cafeteria (shrewd plan gentleman) it's worth the drive from Troutman (or Denver or Salisbury) to consume this orgasm on a plate. If you prefer something lighter, you can't go wrong w/Pinkberry. I find all other frozen yogurts to be icy knock-offs but if you can't get to PB (ie: frozen Mecca) then stop by Sweet Frog or the newly rebranded TCBY for something light, sweet & waistline friendly. |
