1. May Wah Inn Chinese Cuisine
I've been coming here since the mid 90s and have never been disappointed by their authentic dim sum. It's definitely my favorite Chinese restaurant whenever I come to metro Detroit to visit family.

4. Tan Cang Newport Seafood
The lobster is pricier than most places but 100x time better than any of the others! You may need to wait outside during peak hours but it's definitely worth the wait.
5. Tea Six
Excellent noodle soups.. there's just something special about their broths that words cannot describe.
And of course, they've got some of the best honey green lemon tea I've tried.

This place is one of my guilty pleasures.. when I'm nostalgic for some authentic German food (lived in Europe for several months a few years ago.) Definitely try the Rouladen, you won't be disappointed
7. 85C Bakery Cafe
Excellent breads and cakes, reasonable prices. I think I've been here 3 or 4 times and still haven't even remotely tried all of the bread. Even when the line is long, it seems to move pretty quickly.
8. Whole Foods Market
This is THE best Whole Foods I've ever seen.. the food/salad bar is huge and there's more than enough to satisfy your tastebuds on repeat visits. Just watch your spending carefully...

Pros: Affordable authentic Chinese food. I really love their Dan Dan noodles - tired of getting the bland kind with sesame sauce elsewhere.. here, they load it up with tongue numbing spices.

Only complaint is that there's no indoor seating.. otherwise they deserve 5 *'s!
