Amazing!
I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge a few weeks ago and it is just an insane view of lower Manhattan and the Manhattan Bridge. The walk is long so be prepared, but it is worth the trek. I went on a particularly busy day as it was the birthday…More »
Yes...I love you Central Park...but I am not in love with you.
Yes you are fine looking...so green and lush...so much to do and so much to see...I find myself often thinking about you at work or school.
The way you smell on a lovely summer day or how…More »
I absolutely love this park! I am not a native Brooklyn person but moved here from Rockaway beach 3 years ago and never knew much about Prospect Park. One Saturday my wife and I decide to take a drive over to Park Slope. We fell in love with the area…More »
Located on a one-quarter acre site at the corner of Vesey Street and North End Avenue in the Batter Park section of lower Manhattan lies a little patch of land that is dedicated to the Irish that died from the potato famine. But this memorial also…More »
I was born and raised in Rockaway Beach, New York.
Now while Rockaway has seen better days, it is now making a comeback since the late 90s and continues to grow with new communities (Arverne by the Sea), new stores like the 116 st diner, and old…More »

Botanical Gardens
Neighbourhood: Prospect Heights
Each borough has a botanic garden and I have been to them all. This one is my favorite by far. It is so nice that you forget you are in Brooklyn. Definitely go check it out. So many beautiful flowers, plants, trees and a greenhouse with a cafe nearby.
The Cyclone roller coaster is NOT going anywhere when they demolish and rebuild Coney Island. As part of the agreement with developers they agreed to keep the coaster up and running.
This coaster is the only one that gives me white knuckles when its…More »

4 Bagels you need to taste (4)I love a boiled and baked treat just like the next guy. But New York definitely owns when it comes to making a mean bagel. I have had bagels in all 5 boroughs and Long Island. But these four places are still my favorites. One of them even delivers overnight to anywhere in the U.S., nice!Don't be afraid to leave the Island of Manhattan. Check out Brooklyn, Broad Channel and The Rockaways for some goodness with sesame, poppy or everything on it. |
