Friday Night Booze-down Pubs

See All Lists
Every Friday, my husband and I get together for a date after he finishes work at midnight to catch up on our week. The places we go to have to be reasonably close to the subway, preferably around the downtown core, be quiet enough for conversation and serve booze until 2am for us to get properly sloshed.

The Hubster and I came here for our weekly Friday night date. We arrived around 12:30am and were greeted not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES before we sat down. Once was a guy going outside asking if we had a light, and then said that we were going…More »

I've never eaten here, but they serve alcohol, so I've visited quite a few times.

I usually come here for late night Friday drinks with the husband. The service is quick and friendly, the drinks are decently priced, and the bar doesn't smell…More »

We went here last night for a nice relaxing dinner. I was delightfully pleased with their draft list, there were a couple of wheat beers on it (Erdinger, Mill St. Wit) and a cider (Blackthorn).

The food was also pretty good, a cut above usual pub…More »

The husband and I came here for a late night drink on Friday.

I was delighted to learn that on Fridays, bar rail and domestic beers are $3 after 10pm. We were seated pretty quickly and service was pretty quick and very bubbly and friendly. He got a…More »

Great atmosphere, good food depending on what you order.

Came here with the husband on a chilly winter's night for a relaxing, laid back dinner. We were seated in the section behind the bar, and they were nice enough to put the leafs game on for us on…More »

Not a bad place for a late-night drink. It gets very busy, and the table service was almost non-existant, but the price of beer was okay and it was quick enough if you were willing to walk to the bar.

Not too shabby, this is a huge multi-level pub with tons of seating, live piano on Friday and very comfy seats.

Service is decent and the beer list is pretty good. I like the place, but the Hubster doesn't, so it's out.

A so-so place to hang out on a Friday night.

I met some friends here for some post-midnight hangings outs. At the door I was greeted by what I assumed was the bouncer, as he didn't move or say a word to me. I gave him my ID and he opened the door for…More »

I came here with the Hubster for another Friday late night date.

Service: Fantastic.
Back patio: Comfy, roomy and garden-y. I particularly loved the GIGANTIC planters and tree cover, even in the dead of night.
Draft selection: Great.

All in all, it was a…More »
