I have now spent my birthday and my wife's birthday here. The prices at Crooked Star just can't be beat. The staff are great and the weekend DJ only plays awesome stuff. It's a cool crowd here that just wants to hang out; no douche-baggery here!
A small place and probably the most eclectic on Ossignton. The bartenders were friendly and the… Read more »

I'm giving this place 5 stars simply because they have Okanagan Springs 1516 on tap. Since moving from Calgary I haven't seen 1516 anywhere.
We had a good time here, though the chairs on the patio are terrible to sit on for a long period of time.
Great selection of tequilas. I had their blood orange drink which went down very easy. The decor on the patio is nice and includes a tiki bar. I would have liked to spend more time here. I guess I'll have to go back again

I've always had a great time when I've come here. The bands they bring in are always great, though it can be quite loud due to the small space that is The Dakota.
The staff are always on the ball and generally remember you once you've hit the bar for…More »

Based on the size of this place I can see why Betty would be sweaty when this place is packed. There's a front area which looks like a traditional bar, a rear area that's more of a lounging place packed with furniture that looks like it was picked…More »

I can agree with Martin S. on his description being "whorehousey". The portraits on the wall look classy at first glance but after a double-take you notice the large amount of side boob and your feelings of class degrade a little.

Came out with some friends on a Saturday night. It's an interesting place. In the front is a bar where they're playing music if you just want to hang out and drink and chat with your friends. The back however is a full-on club. There's a second bar…More »

It's a dive bar, but it's different than the dives on Ossington. It's more of a dive because of it's simpleness and sometimes less than desirable crowd, not a dive bar because hipsters flock to it to drink PBR.
The place is quite large and there was…More »

I really wanted to like this place but I just can't. I came with a handful of friends on Saturday night just before midnight. The place was packed which seemed to be a good sign. We made our way to the back, ditched our coats and tried to get a drink…More »

In this former art gallery / metal shop is an empty, dead, bar. When we were there, there was one other group. The music was good, until we were about to leave when it got way worse. You may like this place if you're a hunter, with all of the…More »
