Quite simply the very finest of fine dining in a stunning location. Who would have thought that way out in Deep Cove was a restaurant of this calibre? Creative French influenced menus will leave you never wanting to eat anywhere else.

I just ate in the tea room last night and stayed in the Otter cabin. The staff we very kind and helpful all the way through the planning, reserving and arrival process. The cabin was just beautiful, clean and cozy. We enjoyed breathtaking views from…More »
They arranged a 7 course set menu with wine pairings for our large party last year and it was one of the best experiences we have had fine dining in Victoria.
I was very impressed by the food quality and service. Since coming in here I've heard every foodie I know in the area regale about their favorite meal here.
I remember it being a very meat heavy menu with very limited vegetable sides. I'm totally in…More »

I've been coming here with my family since I was a kid and it has always been a great choice for meals out. ReBar is a funky, cheerful bistro serving up healthy and creative cuisine ranging from fresh juice to plates of Tomato Tofu & Cashew Stir Fry…More »
I have spent many a pleasant morning/afternoon brunching here and have to say I never leave disappointed. The clientele I can only describe as a cross-section of Victoria, I think I've seen every Victorian I know here on at least one occasion. The…More »
If I had every soy latte I'd ever tasted before me this one would get the gold star. These are the best educated barrista's I've ever encountered. They are aware of every tiny detail that makes coffee smooth and velvety. Make a stop here the moment…More »
I came in for lunch here and had the antipasto plate with a nice assortment of cheese, veggies, bread and olives to snack on. The service was friendly and professional. The ambiance of the restaurant was up-scale but still welcoming and cozy.

The atmosphere is a folksy pub scene with an extensive menu. You don't even have to like Oysters to dine here - I'm in that category and I always find plenty to eat. Dishes are mostly west coast inspired though for Yelp it probably falls under…More »
Pags! I almost forgot to review Pags. Dear god. This is a really fun place to eat, a Victoria institution if you will. Live music, great vibe, mugs of wine while you wait in line and bread to die for. Food is pretty good though to be honest we come…More »
Buddhist vegetarian chinese food. Order from the menu for the freshest experience. I really like the food here and highly recommend it for a casual dinner. The dining room is always very cold, dress accordingly.
The food at the Reef is worth checking out if you're getting tired of the multitude of "west coast fusion" bistros in town. It is also open late. Jerk tofu is very flavourful though can be quite salty so skip it if you are having it with cheese too.…More »
This is a buffet style restaurant serving up a great variety of veggie and vegan foods. The Ambiance is very casual and hippie-friendly. The owners are just great people who really care about quality food and people's health.

This is a good brunch spot and an institution among locals. Be sure to arrive early as there is often a lineup.
Maybe it's nostalgia but I do love coming here on a cold rainy night, huddling up next to the fire with good friends and a warm cup. It's open really late, serves a good assortment of desserts and is a good destination for a nice long walk along…More »
Good coffee, cozy atmosphere and tasty sandwiches to boot. Yet another high quality coffee shop to make you never need to go to a Starbucks in Victoria.
The source of the legendary ReBar focaccia bread. Soup on a cold rainy day, fresh bread. Sold.
I love that I can wander a short way in a seemingly out of the way neighbourhood and end up here. The coffee is great and so are many of the baked good and pizza slices. They also have some grocery items and candy like an old fashioned corner store.…More »
This is a beautiful English gastropub on the main strip in Oak Bay. While one doesn't usually associate fun with the goings on "behind the tweed curtain", this is indeed a fun place. The fun ends early though, 10:00 is bedtime at the Penny Farthing.…More »
The music and incredible interior architecture make this a must-see downtown Victoria. The food is ok for Irish pub food and there are plenty of drinks to choose from. I like to go on Sunday nights for the celtic jam session and watch all the local…More »
You absolutely can't miss going to a good pub in Victoria. Not only because there are more pubs than Starbucks, they are also very good and this one is no exception. Like it's cousins, the Penny Farthing and the Irish Times, this beautifully…More »
Great view and a decent wine list. I've only had a cheese plate here so I can't vouch for food but I can say the service was excellent when we were there and they dealt with our loud group like pros.
Not a bad way to end your day. It's a nicely laid out, quietly upscale restaurant and bar that specializes in cocktails.
I was here for a bottle of wine and a variety of small plates with a handful of people on a week night. We definitely had the "B"…More »
This is a good venue for a group due to how casual it is and the size of the tables. The menu is fairly small and is pretty simple. Everything I've had to eat was decent pub fare. The service is pretty swift and drinks make their way to the tables…More »
Quiet and unassuming, this bistro is tucked away in quaint Estavan Village in Oak Bay. The village area is unfortunately totally dead at night so unless you know to make Paprika your dining destination, it's not likely going to be something you'll…More »
Victoria is not known for epic ethnic food but this place is fine for a dinner out on a week night with friends. The service is pretty good and they have quite a few familiar dishes on the menu. I didn't find anything to be spicy enough or quite…More »

What to eat in Marin County, California (31)Where to eat around Marin County. Mostly Fairfax, San Anselmo and San Rafael. It seems unlikely but Marin does have an amazing assortment of top notch restaurants tucked into some of the neighborhoods and villages. Probably something to do with the number of Chefs who want to call this home. Lucky us! |

Soy Lattes I have known (15)I am what you might call a soy latte connoisseur or snob. I dislike flavoured and sweetened soy in coffee. Imagine if a regular milk latte at Starbucks all of a sudden came pre-sweetened with vanilla flavouring... yes there would be blood. So why should soy drinkers be stuck with this sub-par coffee experience? This list is for the San Francisco Bay area. I also have a list for Victoria, BC. |
