My new favourite study spot that was discovered thanks to these fabulous yelp reviews. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and got a lot of work done at their busy communal table. Everyone speaks very quietly and is respectful on their phones. The…More »

I just discovered Tea Blendz and I'm hooked! On the surface, Tea Blendz looks a lot like David's Tea. Rows of very flavourful, unique teas in silver jars with colourful labels. However, there are a few key differences:
1) You don't smell the communcal…More »

I had a great iced latte on the large outdoor patio facing High Park. The open-concept cafe is very bright and welcoming, and conveniently in front of High Park Station. The cafe sells hot or cold coffee-based drinks, tea and lemonade, as well as…More »

So I'm sitting in Alternative Grounds, drinking a pot of lemon tea, eating a samosa, enjoying the music, when this wasp flies over and starts helping itself to my mango chutney. It would not leave me be(e). My first instinct was to kill it ... it…More »
Update:
I wish they baked their own treats... Most of it is pre-packaged or Dufflet brand.
The coffee is delicous, but a bit expensive ($2.25 for a large).
I still love the atmosphere - always very clean and lovely.
Cash only.
Unlike some of the dark, dreary coffee shops on Roncessvalles, this one is nice and bright with big… Read more »

This cafe is a little gem squished between a row of ugly convenience stores, auto shops, hardware stores and chicken wing eateries. I visited on a quiet Sunday morning and just grabbed a cup of drip coffee, which was just $1.50.The service was fast…More »

Dark Horse has been catching my eye from the Spadina streecar for a few months now, so I was very eager to try this out for a coffee date one Saturday afternoon.
The prices and selection is very good. Not only do they have espresso and baked goods,…More »
Neat freaks, rejoice. This is the spot for you. This spotless, colour-less, white cube of a coffee shop is the cleanest, most organized, most WHITE bakery I have ever visited. The walls are white, the tables are white, the china is white, and the…More »

What a cute little spot! I had a chocolate chip cookie and a cup of Morroccan tea. It's their feature drink for March and comes with fresh mint leaves! It was a very minty, comforting drink, served in a glass mug on a fancy black tray. However, the…More »
