I really love this place.
YES you will likely have to wait for a table (line up moves quick though) and the service is mediocre.
But really you don't go here for the service/atmosphere, I go for the CHEAP big portions of good sushi!
The $5.99 lunch…More »
WOW, poor little Ginger has only 1 review? I'm surprised!
Ginger is a great little vietnamese "fast food" style place on the Bloor Annex strip.
As the previous reviewer mentioned, the portions are BIG and they don't skimp on the meat, which is unusual…More »
I DIG IT! Ghazale is another of my top cheap eats.
I pick up a Ghazale "combination plate" once in awhile on my way home. The combination plate is a selection of 1 meat and 3 non-meat dishes (or 4 non meat options if you're a veg) and it comes with a…More »
Pulled pork burrito! Jesus H, count me in. Ooooo it was delicious! (Went last week)
My friend had a halibut burrito which she gave 2 thumbs up.
The toppings here are tasty, decent guac and tasty sauce. Everything seemed fresh and the place was…More »
OH MY GOODNESS
I was anxiously awaiting this place to open up as the sign was posted out front for nearly a month now.
Today, opening day finally arrived! I was walking through the Annex and spied a GIANT ICE CREAM CONE man hailing people in.…More »
Big Sushi is my second favourite on the Bloor/Annex strip.
Things that make it unique from the others:
1) The BIG, comfy booths! Oh yeah. (At Sushi on Bloor I can get crammed into a small table and chair and have to sit near the doorway with 15 people…More »
Popped in here after finishing all my Xmas shopping last night.
Decor is ok - clean, modern and chic but kinda cheap. Just like Ikea. But Kenzo in in the Annex, so this is the best that can be expected.
Service was fast and they definitely had a good…More »

Ahh, Futures, a real jack-of-all-trades (coffee shop, bakery, cheap breakfast, cafeteria style lunch/dinner food, patio bar) establishment.
I lived a couple floors above this place for 3 years so I was a frequent visitor.
Here's my summary:

I finally checked out this place tonight. To be honest I was a little disappointed, from the other reviews here I was expecting better.
My friend and I shared a boneless chicken roti and we also shared a plate of 1 of each of the veggie side dishes…More »
This place is kind of boring. I kind of enjoyed the "woking out" part most if I'm honest.
It opened up just over a year ago but there never seems to be any customers. I think I know why !! Who wants to pay $10 plus tax for a stir fry when there are a…More »

OMFG! Why is this place yet to be reviewed? (David T's one liner hardly counts, puh-lease!!)
I had read about Annapurna somewhere before but had yet to make a trip up to Bathurst/Dupont. I chanced by there on my way back from Fringe Fest, so I decided…More »
Somewhere around 2.5 star. Falafel-afel-afel-afel-afel-aw ful!!!!!!!!!!
(There used to be a crazy lady on the streets who used to mutter that in the Annex, honest. Maybe she really was referring to Sarah's) Just kidding. Their falafel is actually ok…More »
Thai Spring Roll definitely muddled things up by offering groupon coupons.
I've been here a few times 2-3 years ago and probably would have given it a 3 star prior to recent experiences!
This place is usually empty with OK-ish food. It's a decent…More »
Green Room is really meh for me.
I used to frequent it quite a bit in '07/'08 when I lived nearby. At first I loved the decor - student looking artwork, Christmas lights, old couches.
Nowadays, I'm usually subjected to the Green Room once or twice a…More »
I'm surprised anyone even gave this hole a 3 star review!
Located right next door, you think the restaurant would actually fill up just taking customers who didn't fancy waiting in line at Sushi on Bloor.
WRONG.
On a Saturday you will still see 15+…More »
