Without cable, we have been having to get creative when it comes to entertaining ourselves. Sad, I know. But, we figure that we should be outside anyway so we decided to venture to Montrose…More »

Update 6/1/08
The BOB burger, which has a fried egg on it, is pretty damn good.

What a great, down-to-earth crowd! Not many trixies or chads here....
Good beer selection. Small menu but burgers and…More »

A laid-back, down to earth sports pub with cheap, good food. I really like their pizza and I have an endless stomach whenever I eat it. Waitstaff is polite and now I know to go up to the cash register rather than waiting for our bill.
Yes, Patrick is right--they have instituted a new system for communion that has ushers releasing people pew by pew. Much more organized (except for the people who have not caught onto this system).
I'm yelpin' a church, y'all! And it's Sunday too!
When I moved to Chicago in '02 I chose St. Mary's…

I have been searching for my favorite pizza in the City for 5 years and have finally found it. This pizza really is awesome and reasonably priced. I'm sure it's not very healthy but who cares. Just wish the restaurant was bigger inside and had…More »
When I was compiling my Buena Park list, I realized I haven't reviewed Bojono's--what a travesty!
Not a fan of their thin crust but I love their pan pizza. Oftentimes when we have out-of-town guests staying with us, we order from Bojono's so that they…More »

I'm the 130th review for this place? Yes please!
We refer to it as Titzal because it's more catchy...
I wanted to visit Tiztal a couple times before I reviewed it, thus the tardiness of this review. It's probably the best brunch option in Uptown.…More »

I'd like to follow my review of a running shoe store with that of a fast food place.
I had avoided Jake's for several years. It looks shady and has crazy cartoons painted on its windows.
Everyone needs a place, within walking distance, to go to get…More »

This review completes the trifecta that is Bojono's, Clarendon Foods, and now Clarendon Cleaners (Dollop--you're in a different category).
Can I tell you how useful/practical/convenient it is that a dry cleaner is AROUND THE CORNER? Seriously, I have…More »

In the same space as the defunct Urban Tea Lounge, Kahawa House is a welcome site in Uptown. They sell warm beverages as well as smoothies and pastries. I had a small honeydew smoothie and it was really good and...large....I was seriously bloated…More »
Dependable. Cheap. Nearby.
This Thai place is not really good and not really bad but I do LOVE their lunch special. From 11-3 every day you can get an appetizer, soup, and lunch sized entrée for $5.99. I usually get the Spicy Basil but I heard several…More »
I didn't see any diapers in the sand or gross amounts of trash. Then again I wasn't examining the sand that closely. It's a public beach. It's free. I did, however, notice that the sand is a bit rough and not as fine as the sand at North Avenue…More »
How could I pass up the chance to be the 100th review for Dollop?
First, I would like everyone to take a moment of silence for the nearby and recently closed Urban Tea Lounge. May it rest in peace as one of the coolest places in Chicago.
Like many have…More »
Where's the love for Clarendon Food Mart?
It's a convenience store therefore the items are priced higher. Sure, I don't do my weekly grocery shopping here but it does come in handy when I run out of something and don't want to trek to Jewel or…More »

1,376. By my calculations, that's how many times I've walked by Corona's.
As I headed there this week to grab lunch, I felt bad that I hadn't tried the place before. It's small but on the cozy side and the same lady has been working there since when…More »
