CROISSANT REVIEW.
Yep, still my favourite croissant. A couple of things I didn't include in my first review, which are more apparent after having sampled many croissants:
- solid outside structure, not soft
- its on the well done side (which I like)

Smooth and tasty $2 Americanos poured by friendly and efficient staff. They pour the water in front of you and ask you to "say when". Awesome.
Pain Perdu croissants. (I just found out this morning, my favourite!)

4.5 stars... with definite possibility of going to 5 with return visits.
The croissant - nice sturdy shell on the outside; chewy, buttery and crispy on the inside... I rank it #2 behind Pain Perdu but I will concede that is more a subjective matter of…More »

Unexpectedly good butter croissants here. Coffee is so smooth you don't need milk or sugar. Serve yourself water from a huge glass (?) bowl-y dispenser thing.

Croissant review... good, but not the best. Looks like a croissant (not too long, wide). Good colour. Medium flake. Very buttery.
I'll make a note of the relatively inexpensive price ($1.60-something with tax). Note that I purchased and ate it…More »
Croissant - crispy enough on the outside, nice flavour, not as crispy as I like it on the inside, but that's more a "to my taste" thing. Not a huge croissant but at $1.90 before tax that's acceptable.
Rich, smooth americano. Bright, colourfully…More »

CROISSANT REVIEW:
OK (not A-OK) quality. Very similar to Jules but slightly better because its baked longer for a richer taste - solid enough structure (read it doesn't look like a used sock on the floor). Not particularly crisp. More bready than…More »

CROISSANT REVIEW:
Decent to passable quality. Solid enough structure (read it doesn't look like a used sock on the floor). Slightly underbaked, more bready than flaky, no distinctive butter taste, not particularly crisp.
I'd like to give it another…More »
The only time to properly evaluate croissants is just after the establishment opens for business that day. Today (Sunday) I was at Nadege at 9:30 to give their croissant another try. It was good, definitely better than the one I tried at Clafouti…More »
I stopped by to try the croissant. Its ok. Clafouti is better (of the non-flaky, rather bready… Read more »

CROISSANT REVIEW - I'll have to agree its a solid citizen if you like soft, mushy/dense and relatively oily vs. crisp, flaky, and relatively…More »
The croissant... 3.5... sort of a smaller pastry and disappointingly deflated presentation. Nice crispness and butteriness though. Tried it late in the afternoon so the morning may yield a better product. But it is NOT among the best in Toronto.

Pleasant, spacious cafe, great to have in your neighbourhood but probably not a destination.
Went to try the croissant, which was somewhat flaky on the outside and had a nice flavour, but was a little heavy / bready on the inside. Decent overall Good…More »
Mushy and lacking flavour is how I would describe a warm Clafouti croissant that just came out of the back. Even just a tinge of that sort of yucky flavour of the typical grocery store croissants.
I have to give a two to balance off all those other…More »

I haven't been here too many times over the couple of months I've been in the neighbourhood. Yeah, its like other Starbucks but here are perhaps a few things noting:
1. Store has a "catwalk style" layout - easy to people watch INSIDE the store.

I need to knock this back to a 4. The bread is still good at a very reasonable price but its not reasonable to have a 5 rating where I wouldn't buy product covering 75% of the space. Still... go for the bread.
I was wrong... My Market Bakery is a 5. The stop here is usually my highlight of the shopping trip.… Read more »
