I have nothing but love for Bigby's. Seriously. The atmosphere, the craft beers, the bartenders, the food...ALL AWESOME. I can stop looking for the perfect beer and the perfect bar, because I have found it. THE END.

I am in LOVE with Revolution Brewing Company. I ended up here on a Sunday afternoon whilst flying solo and went to the bar for some IPA sampling. I wish that they sold their beer in bombers, but alas, they only sell in growlers and I already had a…More »
I think it's about time that I preface all of my beer reviews with the fact that by the time I actually write the review, I'm most likely half to full on lit. This may sway my vote. Either way, here goes:

This brewery/brew pub/coop is the shit. I have been to Two Brothers on several occasions for different reasons and I have left happy EVERY TIME.
First, let's talk about the tour. It is free, it is informational, and it gives you 4 free tickets to…More »
Stopped here to grab a growler on my way home since the entire state of Indiana doesn't sell beer on Sundays. (Which I found out whilst trying to buy some beer on a Sunday. For those who don't know, now you know.) Do you know what it's like to…More »

THIS PLACE WAS THE BOMB. It is a distillery, winery, AND brewery which made me very happy. Maybe it was our last stop on the Wine Trail, or because I finally got some craft brew after a LOT of wine, or even the awesome staff, but I love it here.

OH. HELL. YES. I know I say that I have found my new favorite place every couple of weeks, but seriously? I HAVE FOUND MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE.

This is my third time at The Stray Dog and I have yet to be disappointed. The place is big so there's always a seat somewhere, it's kitschy yet also has beautiful trees and lights up around the bar and the fireplace (and it HAS a fireplace...), has…More »
After finding myself in Waukegan, yes, I said WAUKEGAN, I was desperately trying to find something in the the area to make the trip worthwhile. The yelp app totally hooked this one up. It seems like there are several craft beer bars down Milwaukee…More »
Man, I LOVE the beer here. LOVE! But the combination of waiting forever and sub par service really grinds me down. This time, I went to grab some of my beloved Zombie Dust and get some grub but the brewpub is under construction so the grub part…More »

This review is based simply on the beer and bar service and not the food because, well, apparently I like to drink.
I came here solo on a Sunday afternoon and parking and seating were not a problem. The place is really nice inside; there is a long…More »

This is my third visit to The Lucky Monk and I always feel the same when I leave: Full, half-lit, but half-annoyed. Let me explain.
I really like the food here. It's traditional American fare with a twist to try and make it 'different' (you know,…More »
In my quest to find the perfect beer friends suggested that Emmett's be a must-see (or in my case, a must drink) in the suburbs. I've been here a couple of times now (only in the bar area) and it has always been the same. Pretty good beer, pretty…More »
I'm not sure if it's actually the Tap House Grill or just the satisfaction of multiple Alpha Kings, delicious soft pretzels, and kick ass fish and chips (plus a healthy bite of my man's burger) in mah belly, but this was a glorious night out.

I FINALLY made it to Brauerhouse. The place is small but nice...I really liked the atmosphere. It's a little rockabilly, a little metal, and a little punk. They had quality music playing the whole time (a good mix of blues, classic rock, metal,…More »
Avenue Ale House is a great Oak Park bar. It's your typical rustic dark wood pub with a big bar, plenty of tables, a rooftop area, good beer (usually I can only find one or two beers I like at any given bar due to my craft beer snobbiness...AAH has…More »
We just went here for lunch after a LONG HIATUS of not coming here at all. I usually avoid this place like the plague since it is crawling with people from my high school...no, I do not want to do a stop and chat, thanks...but I gave it a try for…More »
I'll break it down easy for you:
Atmosphere = great (the garlic fries are pretty awesome if you don't mind having garlic breath for days).
Beer = meh.
