Feel free to take this review with a grain of salt. All the other Yelp reviews tend 4-5 stars. I've been here 4x. The first time, I loved going w/ some colleagues and easily blew some $$ here...

I ordered the chick pea curry and fragrant basmati rice.

Came here years ago to get my little canine's claws trimmed. I kept coming back to this short haired dirty-blonde pet groomer, who was confident and experienced (sometimes those two adjectives are synonymous).
She also knows of many interesting pet…More »

Based on the two ice cream flavours I ended up with, I need to give this place five stars.

What a welcome addition to Kensington Market. This somewhat new eatery offers fast meals at reasonable prices. I love their vegetarian burrito at $4.99! You can have it w/ or w/out cheese, and with your choice of a potato based or tofu/cactus…More »

O-M-G... Before my yelping days, I was loving the Spicy Mayan Hot Chocolate drink SO much, that "Soma" seemed to be the trigger name... for me to have verbal diarrhea about this (previously $3.50) cheap direct drink from the heavens.

My Old Stompin' Grounds: Kensington Market!!! (8)I lived and breathed 8 years of my life in this 'hood, and I love it so much that I still think of it quite fondly.I'll be adding reviews and suggestions of places you should consider checking out... Twice this week already, I'm introducing my colleagues to K-Mkt hotspots that they didn't know about! I've also included a few places w/in the Market short walking distance radius. |
Colour me Multi-Ethnic /Multi-Canadian (14)If being Canadian is multiracial, multicultural, then the word "ethnic" wouldn't be used here in Canada. Yet, it still is...Anyway, just wanted to create a list of Authentic Yummy Places that I'm aware of. Places where I can pop item x into my mouth and say... Mmm... How Korean, or Mmm... How Bangledeshi... My list is by no means comprehensive. It's a starter list that I plan on adding to, incrementally. |
5 *star* wonders (3)If this service or business got a 5 from me, it's because they were *Outstanding*.Check 'em out. 'Cos a 5, is the highest score Yelpers can give! |
Guilt-free Pleasures (Places to Detox some bad things a-ways!) (7)Somehow having a tendency to be thin, and having the "unusual" diet of a vegetarian/vegan suggests to others, that I know a thing or two more than they might, about health and nutrition. My lifestyle, and what I tend to eat, is no secret. I normally cleanse 2x/year: once in the Springtime, the other time in the Fall. 1. cut out Sugars, wheat, alcohol, chocolate spec., canned foods. 2. prioritize sleep 3. practice exercise 3x week for 30 straight minutes minimum (ex: cycling, yoga, vigourous house cleaning). ~~~ Here are a list of places that I go to, for some Me-Time or to Eat Mindfully/Guilt-free: |
