If you cold only visit one place in Seattle, I would recommend Pike Place Market (and its Fish Market) over the Seattle Center and the Space Needle.
Yes, the Space Needle is more iconic, but Pike Place is a lot more fun, easier on the wallet, and more…More »
Pike Place Fish Market is a must-visit place in Seattle.
When there, make sure to see the Flying Fish (throwing of) and also stand in front of the large Monkfish and wait there. You'll thank me later on.

I now regret not having my picture taken while sitting on Rachel the pig. Something to save for next time!
City Fish Market is Amazing!
They serve fresh seafood, in hearty quantities, for great prices. How can you beat that combo?
I tried:
- 3 ginormous Oyster Shooters for $5 ($2 if bought by itself)
- Dungeness Crab Cocktail for $9
The portions for both…More »
Piroshky Piroshky's baked goods are amazing.
I especially like their Salmon Pate Piroshky. Their veggie offerings are healthy tasting. The Beef and Cheese one is the most popular, but I have yet to try it.
This is one of the biggest things I miss…More »

I am a huge fan of mass transit, and in particular, Seattle's LINK Light Rail system.
This system is clean, fast, cheap, and convenient. They saved me a lot of money by not having to rely on taxi's or a rental car during this past weekend in Seattle.…More »
Take The Seattle Underground Tour, it's a great way to learn about the history of the city!
I am so glad that my friends & I were able to squeeze in a tour of the Seattle Underground on our last day in town, this past weekend. Our tourguide, Rick,…More »
Alki Beach is a real beach, right in Seattle!
You would forget that you're in Seattle when you are there because it reminds you of a non-Seattle atmosphere. I highly recommend going for a nice relaxing day.

The Icon of Seattle.
When in Seattle, you must ascend the Space Needle. The view up top is nice, and on a clear day you can even see Mount Rainer. On regular days, you can see Safeco Field, Qwest Field, the Puget Sound, Experience Music Project…More »
Guilty Pleasure.
How good can a 2am Polish hot dog with cream cheese and grilled onions taste? Pretty amazing, and that's not the beer talking either.
Although it cost $5, the dog was sizeable and filling. It took a slow paced 1 hour wait and…More »

This is the Pike Place Chowder on the 4th Floor of Pacific Place, not the one in Post Alley by Pike Place. My friend and I tried the chowders here, and the Cook Off award is the fluke. This place's chowders are the real deal.
My friend had the award…More »
REI Flagship Store with a Gigantic Rock Climbing Wall.
This store is great. One can only wish we had outdoor goods stores half as nice on the east coast. The climbing wall was insane. I almost made it up to the top. The climb down was a lot harder…More »

Just like Mitsuwa in NJ and CA. Uwajimaya is a great Japanese supermarket. If only more cities in America had similar such places that are as big and as good.
A New Hyatt on 8th Ave, between Pine & Olive Streets.
I was surprised at how nice the Hyatt at Olive 8 was. My friends & I stayed here this past weekend, for the Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon.
A double cost $219/night (pre-tax). The location is…More »

EMP's Avatar Exhibit was great! As for the other exhibits, I wasn't too interested in their subject matter.
The cost to enter was a bit steep, at $18. The Avatar exhibit took up over an hour to view. The videos of how James Cameron & co. made the…More »
Olympic Sculpture Park is a nice relaxing sculpture park by the Puget Sound. It's worth a visit and a stroll even at night. I visited here in 2001.
Still is a nice bar that's not divey with good drinks. Although it's in Capitol Hill (on the fringe of it, and is on the other side of the I-5 expressway from Downtown), it attracts a yuppie crowd.

Tap House Grill is great!
With 160 different types of beer on tap, it's hard to go wrong. On top of that the burger I tried there, after running the Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon on Saturday, was pretty delicious.

AYCE Seafood Brunch Galore.
In March 2007, a friend took me to Salty's for brunch (it's right near Alki beach). It's all you can eat, and there was so much food! It's not cheap and it's not gourmet, but I recommend it.
