MUST. VISIT. LOCATION. IN. MONTREAL.

I don't care what your time constraints are.  Just go.
Make a meal out of it!

There's a really good gelato place.  The fruits are yum at this farmer's market (it's been claimed that Jean Talon is the largest open air…More »

My Favorite Bagel

Yes, yes, NYC'ers complain that bagels are meant to be larger, but when it comes to taste, I think Fairmount's small donut like offerings are a lot better.

Unfortunately, they don't make their own cream cheese.

Next time, I venture up…More »

Restaurant Le Paris is a small bistro that's conveniently located on Rue Catherine ouest.  HOWEVER, it's not well known.

I discovered the bistro after asking my hotel's concierge back in 2007.  My friends and I went after skiing in Tremblant.  We…More »

A cool outdoors store in Le Quartier Latin!

Great buys for us Americans when the USD is strong.
I bought a North Face backpack here a while back, when the Dollar was strong, for dirt cheap.

The Casino de Montreal has no competition, literally.

Despite this fact, it is a decent place to gamble.
It's open 24-7-365.  On a ski trip, my friends and I actually went on Christmas Eve, so we know this "tourist spot" is open all year round.  Of…More »

Classy Old School Jewish Steakhouse.

You definitely need to call in and make reservations for Moishe's.  Even so, expect to wait.

I randomly came across L2 Lounge in the summer of 2008.  It's located in Chinatown on a 2nd floor.  We were surprised to see how many kiddos were hanging out there.  They're even there on school days!  It has a rec room / game center atmosphere…More »

Believe It or Not, there's a good bistro at the top of Les Beaux Jeudis (aka "Thursdays").

I tend to go to Montreal over 3-day weekends in the winter for ski season, so many places aren't open (read: Holidays).  BUT, Les Beaux Jeudis to the rescue!…More »

Sorry Chasse Et Peche...  This is Your First 4-Star Rating.

The service was impeccable.  The wine was magnifique.  The appetizers were a thing of beauty.  However the entrees fell short, and that's what matters most.

I went in April 2008 with my…More »
