Milestone Yelp review (500!), so I chose to review the City of Atlanta. It's been about 2.5 years since I picked up my entire life and relocated to Atlanta, and while it hasn't been easy, I'm glad I did it. I like how the city is a juxtaposition of…More »
I love the Georgia Aquarium!
My favorite is the giant tank and tunnel ("Ocean Voyager" section)...I could have stayed there under the tunnel watching all the sealife swim around me. The vast size of the tank is amazing...both the tunnel and the…More »

Multiple visits later...the good parts are still good- Tasting room, pop art room, giant Coke bottles, and multiple Red Sox World Series rings on view now!
But the "meh" parts have gotten worse...the film at the beginning has been updated and not for…More »
I think everything's already been said about the World of Coke- yes, it's commercial b/c it's… Read more »
I enjoyed seeing the largest oil painting in the world. I thought the diorama (the parts in front of the painting that make it look 3D) was so cool. However, for those who aren't interested in the Civil War or aren't history buffs, the museum may…More »
Gorgeous...feels like a park but with lots of marble gravestones, as a cemetery should have! Kidding aside, the historic cemetery with a variety of grave markers from the simple to the ornate and giant mausoleums make for an interesting and eclectic…More »
A must-see for any Atlantan or visitor to Atlanta....I can't believe I had not visited this National Park site that is practically down the street from where I live. The visitor center had an exhibit that was a tribute to the entire life of Martin…More »
Visiting Turner Field to see the Braves play is a good solid baseball experience. I am an average baseball fan when it comes to teams in the National League, but I've still enjoyed the few times I've been here to catch a game. I've also taken a…More »
Wonderful museum detailing the life, presidency and post-presidency of Jimmy Carter. I had never been to the museum before the recent renovation, but from this visit, I have to say that the exhibits are sleek, informative and interesting...as with…More »
This museum's architecture is gorgeous...art in itself. The layout allows small intimate spaces for smaller collections, big open rooms for large installations and paintings, and open hallway/circular ramp where you can catch glimpses of beautifully…More »
My 400th review!
Nice place to spend the afternoon (a few hours, tops...it's a small botanical garden). My favorite is the rainforest house, that includes all the beautiful orchids. Don't forget to look up- my favorite view is looking up into the…More »
Nice open bar and window-filled patio space, even with the industrial area environment. And what a deal! $8 will get you a large Sweetwater souvenir glass, drink tickets to try the brews they have on draft, and a brief brewery tour. Good place to…More »

A really nice respite to the gaudy tourist attractions some other museums may seem like. The Atlanta History Center walks you through the Atlanta of the past, hard to believe amongst the automobile & skyscraper filled city.
First, the museum…More »
Thanks Yelpers for letting me know that I could bring my own food in to make it a nice late lunch outing. I stopped by Hankook Taqueria on the way to Red Brick- very convenient to have one of my favorite food place just a couple minutes from the…More »
Inman Park/Old 4th Ward (25)Inman Park and Old Fourth Ward! Trying out all the places near where I live...love this neighborhood. |
Making myself pretty (or at the very least- not scary) (10)I don't wake up looking like this...I gotta work at it. OK, not "work" per se, more like "pay" for it. |
Decatur (9)Tons of great places to eat & imbibe...all within walking distance of a square. |
Tastes of the Far East (20)Asian restaurants in Atlanta- I'm slowly compiling reviews from all the Asian restaurants I've tried in Atlanta- Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc...no 5-stars yet but plenty of 2-3-4 star places. |
Carbo Loading- Italian Style (Atlanta) (9)Italian dining in Atlanta has made me a little gun shy...while I love Italian food, I had a couple awful Italian food experiences when I first arrived in this city and usually end up at the same 2-3 Italian places I do like...so hopefully, making a list will encourage me to try a few more restaurants out there. Here's all of what I tried (minus the pizza places). |
Desert weekend getaway (11)Arizona vacation- Quick relaxing getaway, I need to make this a regular vacation destination! |
Party of one! Dining solo (19)Places in Atlanta where I've felt comfortable dining by myself. The only requirement is that there's a bar or small tables off to the side- nice bartenders, easy parking and good people watching areas also are a plus. For me personally, It's also nice to have no judgment or people staring if I want to order multiple dishes to try and bring leftovers home :) |
Restaurants to bring out-of-towners (14)Here's where I've brought family & friends visiting from out of town, who want some type of Atlanta food experience |
Dim Sum Quest- Atlanta (8)UPDATE: Found great dim sum!!!! See my last review on the list for Golden House.Original list description: I've pretty much given up on this one...I don't think great dim sum exists in Atlanta (especially a la carte and to go) so I'll have to settle for just good dim sum. |
Escaping my office for lunch (8)When I'm sick of my office cafeteria, cross-eyed from staring at a computer screen, or my butt is numb from sitting on my swivel chair, here's where I go for lunch. |
