We had our wedding here and have to say the experience was wonderful. What a great rustic back-drop for our alternative, taffeta-free celebration. The staff were great from the beginning of our planning to the end of the wedding weekend.

This is where you want to buy paper! Beautiful quality, no tacky scrap-book stuff, all 8X11 sizes for easy printing AND so many great envelopes. They make their own pockets and folding cards which are like envelopments but better (and cheaper) and…More »

Great hip alternative to the gag-tastic wedding row. Great colour, chic fabric and styles you would actually want to wear again. I love the service here.
I walked in here two days before my wedding and asked them to provide loose flowers, boutineers and my bouquet. The end result was fantastic and very affordable. Thank you!

I had a custom made wedding gown by Sandra Sung in 2007. Sandra is skilled as a design professional but I think she had some seamstresses working for her who didn't have the same attention to detail that she had. I had some problems with my fit. My…More »

Dining out in Victoria, BC (26)I've spent more than half my life here and am still a frequent visitor. Allow me to steer you away from the tourist crap and toward the best Victoria has to offer.WARNING LIST Aside from avoiding anything that faces the inner harbour, there are also a lot of chains that masquerade as restaurants which I would run from. Milestones, Cactus Club, The Keg, White Spot, Blenz, Smitty's, ABC, Earl's, Boston Pizza, Macaroni Grill |

What to eat in Marin County, California (31)Where to eat around Marin County. Mostly Fairfax, San Anselmo and San Rafael. It seems unlikely but Marin does have an amazing assortment of top notch restaurants tucked into some of the neighborhoods and villages. Probably something to do with the number of Chefs who want to call this home. Lucky us! |

Soy Lattes I have known (15)I am what you might call a soy latte connoisseur or snob. I dislike flavoured and sweetened soy in coffee. Imagine if a regular milk latte at Starbucks all of a sudden came pre-sweetened with vanilla flavouring... yes there would be blood. So why should soy drinkers be stuck with this sub-par coffee experience? This list is for the San Francisco Bay area. I also have a list for Victoria, BC. |
