My favourite place in Toronto for breakfast, and I've been to a lot! A disclaimer, though...I only ever have the same thing...Eggs and Onions! Comes with beans, home fries and challah toast like the other brekkies.

I met three friends here to try out their mid-week breakfast (vs. weekend brunch). 3 of us had the breakfast special at 7.95, which included 2 eggs, "bacon" or sliced tomatoes, 2 latkes, a multigrain bagel and coffee. It is still excellent, but lost…More »

I have one complaint about Crema. Now I can't enjoy a latte anywhere else. These are by far the best I've had. You can taste the coffee. Other places serve warm, tasteless, milky drinks by comparison.

REALLY good ice cream. 16 previous reviewers, averaging 4.5 stars, can't be wrong.
Two points...Ed is a very nice guy (talk to him about ice cream if he's not too busy), and he CARES about his product.
2nd, they have a system! One server will serve…More »

Why 5-stars? I can't find anything wrong with Vortex. I agree with everything Kat F. said, but offer one correction. They may have been in this location for over 20 years, but they've been in business for 30 or more. I can remember going to their…More »
This has been my favourite pizza since 1982. I'm basing my 5-star review on the following qualifiers; I always get there between 11 and 12 noon, so I usually get a slice of pie right out of the oven. I always get the plain cheese. I'm sure the…More »

This is an amazing place that the city is lucky to have. You can watch the hats being constructed by the apprentices on classic, specialized equipment at the back of the store.
In addition to their beautiful hand-crafted women's hats, they also carry…More »
Like pistachios? Want a choice of large, jumbo, round, sour, kernels, slivered...? This place has SELECTION. Best salted pistachios I've ever had, and the sour version (flavoured with lemon juice) is worth a try too. This clean, bright store also…More »
This is an amazing place, aptly described by others, but I'm adding this because of the limited hours, and didn't want anyone to be disappointed. This is a "construction site", and CLOSED to the public during the week, so closely observe the hours…More »
My wife travels A LOT, and we've been using this service for years. Almost always ~15 minutes early and the driver comes up to the porch (about 10 steps) to get her/our bags.
Cars are clean and drivers are quiet.
This place has parts!
It was recommended by the dishwasher repair man. We needed a new lower rack, as many of the bits were broken or rusty. This was a 10 year old Swedish machine...not a real common item.
I called this location (there are a…More »

A couple of years ago when choosing sunglasses, I had it down to a choice of Ray Ban's or Maui Jim's. I ended up taking the Maui Jim's, but I remember something the sales person said to me at that time. "Maui Jim has great customer service".

This is the go-to place for Blundstones. I called the Australian Boot Co. because of split soles in my 10 year old Blunnies (I thought they'd NEVER wear out), and they recommended Nick's.
For 85 bucks all in, they re-soled them in a week, and they…More »
Arrived at ~1:30 on a Friday to a 20 minute wait. TOTALLY worth it. The leek and potato soup was delicious, my grilled sandwich excellent and my wife's soba salad amazing.

I was reluctant to "spend" my 100th review on an establishment outside my home of Toronto, but for a Montreal or perhaps Canadian (but for sure, Jewish) institution, I'll make an exception.

Really great place. Friendly and helpful staff, the rooms are clean, comfortable and modern and the location superb.

Rating was based on reputation as regretfully, I never ate there.

This place is amazing. They have over 500(!) flavours of pop, most in glass bottles and most made with cane sugar (not high fructose corn syrup like all the "big" brands).
