This really is as good as it gets.  Its like a Ralph Lauren black label on crack! Honestly, when I walked in and saw the men's clothes and the decor my jaw dropped. When I went downstairs and saw the women's clothes I was speechless.  It redefines…More »

If the concept is that that they created cool, then count me in.  Just being in this store makes me feel cooler than I am. They kind of have it all but only a few very well selected of each; obscure jewelry, unique housewares, unusual gifts,…More »

Love in a Bowl - My life with Ramen (2)

Not all obsessions are bad. Right? Well, this one's been with me since growing up in Hawaii where ramen is sometimes called saimin. Regardless, this isn't your college dorm, freeze dried, msg ladened, instant meal.

Good ramen should be unique to each shop and have fresh noodles, flavorful broth and roasted pork with sufficient amount fat clinging to it. The other accountrements may vary such as corn, fish cake, etc. But nothing can cure a bad day, a bad cold, or a bad date like some good ramen.

Another Foodie's Unofficial Best of East Village Easts (13)

I'm a recreational chef so there's not a lot I can't do on my own, but somethings really are better not made at home.  Since I live in the East Village I'm fortunate enough to find most of what I need when i want it.
