Walking in the door, I really didn't think I was going to like this place. It had a particularly "bro" atmosphere combined with some uber-fancy light fixtures. But I have been looking for places that have beer other than Sleeman and A. Keith and this…More »

I decided to hit up this place thinking it would be a quick eats kind of place and while I'm sure I could have gotten something to-go quickly, it didn't turn out to be a quick lunch for me...
And that's a good thing!
Maybe because it was a quiet…More »

I love Susan. I went in there with a too dark picture and a vague idea of what I wanted and she spent not one, but two hours taking my hair from long-boring-dreckitude to cute-bouncy-short-fabulousness . Two hours she spent making me perfect! And she…More »

I really wanted to like this place. I love burritos and veggie ones have always been my favorite in the past. BUT... my burrito was barely lukewarm and the salsa tasted like lemon juice and nothing else. I could have dealt with boring salsa if the…More »

Good, basic place to get a quick, cheap bite to eat. I had the Mee Goreng which is fried noodles with tofu, green onion and potato. I didn't get it spicy and I think they ended up making it a bit bland for me. But it was only $5 so I don't expect too…More »
I've only really gone dancing at one place in Vancouver so far but I've always had a great time at Junction. The place is busy but not so crowded that you can't find a spot. The music is usually super cheesy top-40 dance mix music but it's easy to…More »

I love the atmosphere in this place... it's large but not too large with plenty of tables and really excellent coffee. My only complaints are not enough plugs for laptops and not enough food for my munchies.
But I don't care cause the place is comfy…More »

UBC is seriously lacking in the good/cheap eats department. This place is my mainstay on campus. A freshly made-to-order sandwich is $5-$6 which is really the best you can do on campus. They also offer several curries and assorted wraps and samosas…More »

I've been on the lookout for good cookies and for some reason they seem to be hard to find in this town. I tried the two chocolate varieties here and the "divine" was a richer, dense chocolate cookie, soft and almost alcoholic tasting. It was very…More »

I had a sandwich craving the other day so I decided to give Pronto a try. I had the Porchetta sandwich which was just bread and chopped pork with crispy bits (crackling?). The bread was good and the pork was delicious but the lack of variety in the…More »

I'm from Seattle and while I've been in Vancouver I've had a very hard time finding beer that I like, particularly IPAs. Not sure what you all have against hops up here.... the IPA at Yaletown is one of the better IPAs I've had here and I think it…More »
This place is close to my apartment and the price is right. I've had the Shanghai Thick Noodles and they were pretty tasty. Will definitely be going back to try other stuff. Cash only so come prepared!
