What/Why:
Riding at night is a different experience. It's fun to roll through the darkness with just a few flickering lights and friends to guide you.

This ride will start out near Commercial Drive Skytrain (St. Augustines is just over the road) just before sunset (around 9:15). We'll  roll west along 10th Avenue under the canopy of trees. We'll then turn toward down toward Kits Beach, ride around the park and then back downtown to end in Gastown for some well-deserved cheer at a location to be determined by the group - Six Acres? It'll be an easy ride with mostly flat terrain and we'll be using a combo of bike streets and bike paths. Please have  lights - you can be creative with illumination!

Lights are definitely a good thing to have for this ride. MEC has lots of good ones that are fairly inexpensive, including mini-blinky lights that you can simply wrap around the handlebar when you need a light.

We'll mainly be using bike streets and paths (with varying degrees of lighting), but even so, a nice red rear light helps bikes and cars coming up behind you see where you are.

Portside Park (AKA Crab Park), 101 E Waterfront Road (Meet at the Crab Mosaic in the middle of the park.)
9:00pm, Meet at 9pm, ride at 10pm
Cover your bike with lights and come on out to the second annual Bike Rave.
