Amelia Curran is a seeker. Nearly a decade ago she left St. John's for Halifax, but still pines for Newfoundland every single day.

Rich in metaphor, language and instrumentation, Curran's latest album Hunter, Hunter speaks to unrequited longing, the notion of belonging and reflections on love both lost and found.

With a number of East Coast Music Award nominations and an extensive discography, including: War Brides (2006), Lullaby for Barflies (2002), Trip Down Little Road (2001), and Barricade (2000), Curran is widely considered on of Canada's great young songwriters.

A songwriter by trade, but a writer at heart, Curran believes language is everything. She describes the craft of song-writing as an act of "expressing the inexpressible, a means of describing the indescribable."

Upon hearing Rose Cousins for the first time, the clarity and range of her voice is what is initially striking. Rose explores love and loss, longing and loneliness, and the strength of the human spirit in her skillfully written songs. Her music combined with her witty onstage banter makes it customary to both laugh and cry during a live show.

Rose has recently released her 2nd full-length album "The Send Off", produced by Luke Douce. She has toured across both Canada and the USA in support of "If You Were for Me" and received a variety of awards including: East Coast Music Awards Female Recording of the Year (2009), Mountain Stage's Newsong Contest (2007), Nova Scotia Music Awards for Best Folk Recording and Galaxie Rising Star (2007), Prince Edward Island Music Awards for Folk Recording and Female Vocalist (2007). She also received a national nomination at the Canadian Folk Music Awards.

A proven road warrior, Cousins has regularly played over 100 shows a year entertaining audiences in every province and state in North America over the past 3 years. She has performed on stages that include the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, the Kerrville Folk Festival, the Ottawa Folk Festival, and the Strawberry Music Festival. Her endearing stage presence has charmed audiences wherever she performs.

Born and raised in Canada's smallest province, Prince Edward Island, Cousins now calls Halifax, Nova Scotia home.
