What/Why:
Science World at TELUS World of Science, in collaboration with Vancouver is Awesome and Yelp Vancouver, are inviting you to come party like it's Vancouver's centennial! We'll be celebrating the 25 years since Expo '86 right in the original Expo Centre (now Science World at TELUS World of Science). Please note: this is an adults-only event.

Party like it's 1986 with:
- Live cover band Crucial Taunt playing 80s tunes
- Enjoy films made just for Expo '86, including Transitions, Rainbow War, and more!
- Limited edition Expo '86 inspired screen prints (BYO-T-Shirt!)
- Archival footage of Expo '86, specially curated by the Vancouver Archives
- A photobooth
- Expo '86 inspired artwork by Jeremy Shaw
- A special evening showing of HUBBLE in the OMNIMAX Theatre (Showing at 8pm)

Augh - awesome event idea.  But I'm out of town that week. :(

But I'm nostalgia'ing hard right now.  I remember my Expo Ernie/Expo 86 ringer shirts - I distinctly remember my mother buying a bunch of Expo 86 shirts on closing day since they were blowing them out with steep discounts.  I rocked those '86 shirts for years.

Anyone willing to take stewardship of a t-shirt for me so I can get a screenprint?

I was there!!  Or rather here...   one of my oldest memories is getting out of a car nearby somewhere that looked like Main Street station...  looking towards the giant globe of Science World...

Aww I wish I wasn't out of town for this! I remember, I was 2ish and my uncle used to put me on his shoulders so we could watch the fireworks every night of the expo!

I watched my first 3D movie called Transitions at EXPO 86. It's the coolest 3D movie EVER! I must have watched it over 10 times!
