Last DFT movie I saw was F is for Fake... a movie which I love, and loved even more seeing it at the DFT!   Last great old Hollywood movie I saw was - Double Indemnity... not sure if it counts... but it's a great movie!

The last great "old" movie that I saw was "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" Between Joan Crawford's paranoia and Bette Davis's eyes, it's a true classic and a great vehicle for 2 of the best actresses of all time.
For a modern film I really enjoyed "Water for Elephants". Although most of the movie was set to be a love story, I thought it more a story of life. The circus imagery was fantastic.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Made me want to get right into reading the series.

Last good movie I saw was Super 8. Goonie-style movies will get me every time.

Last good movie I watched was One Day

It was a while ago but at the Ann Arbor Film Festival a few years ago I saw an incredible short film about Detroit called "A City To Yourself" that blew my mind.  I also went to The Michigan Theater twice in one week recently to see Amelie because it's the greatest film of all time.  Thanks for a chance to do one of my favorite things - see obsure shorts!  Whoo hoo!

Recently watched The Trip, though I must admit I don't follow either of the British actors closely enough to get the humor...  Would love to go watch the Oscar Shorts though!

The last great film that I saw was "The Artist," a love letter to Hollywood's silent era. Each scene presented an homage to some of the great films of yore, and the soundtrack was one that makes you wish you saw it with a live orchestra accompaniment.

Other great films that I saw this year included "Midnight in Paris," "Tree of Life," "Weekend," and "Moneyball."

The Artist was so good I had to see it twice!

Last week we saw The Help and Secret Life of Bees. Both were excellent.

I saw Mission Impossible IV! It was awesome!

The last great movie I saw was "Once", perfect timing and I got to hear a lot of the music at the Hideout.  "Midnight in Paris" was fun and I was really geeked about "Tron: Legacy "last year...

The last movie I saw, "Twilight: Breaking Dawn" was definitely NOT the last GREAT movie by any means.  But hey it made my little sis happy.  :)

Last great movie?  I rewatched "Crash" the other week....it swept up well deserved awards back when it came out, because it is still just as moving with each viewing.

The last great movie I saw was "42nd St", not about old Hollywood, but about old Broadway. Definitely a great movie!

Eyes Without A Face (1960) - going to be next year's halloween costume, white dove and all

I really loved Take Shelter that was out recently, though it wasn't in the theaters for very long. It stars Michael Shannon who I'm really starting to like as an actor (he's also in Boardwalk Empire - agent Van Alden).

"The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" was the latest great movie I've seen.  I am reading the series and it is excellent also!

"Tintin" was awesome! Having read the books as a kid, I wasn't expecting much--but was pleasantly surprised!

Loved  J Edgar  for current flicks

& can watch the Godfather 1 & 2  anytime its on , #3 should never have been made

& an old classic musical I enjoy is Seven Brides For Seven Brothers

The Stoning of Soraya M., starring Shohreh Agdashloo. So moving.

Love the DFT! Saw many films there. I especially enjoyed seeing Alfred Hitchcocks' Rear Window. Nothing beats seeing on the big screen!

It's been a while since I've been to the DFT, no better reason to go again then this event. :-)

The Artist.  In a world filled with "talkies" it's nice to enjoy the art of silence.

The Man Who Would Be King, starring Michael Caine, Sean Connery and Christopher Plummer.  It was made in 1975 and adapted from a short story by the same name written by Rudyard Kipling.  The film was shot in Afghanistan and has a lot of information in it regarding imperialism.
