Sepia kind of sucked for lunch on Friday. Sadness. My trout was completely raw inside - took forever to get back from the kitchen :( Porchetta  app was tasty though.

Went to Capital Grille in Rosemont on Friday and it was fantastic! Anybody looking to make a stop there during R Week or in general definitely get the Bone-In Kona and the mash potatoes!

Went to Aria for dinner last night and loved all the dishes. Way to have a Fat Tuesday by eating the meat courses! Especially loved that Top Chef contestant Beverly Kim Clark made it a point to visit every table.

Went to Ai Sushi last Sunday! But instead of the restaurant week deal we ended up opting for the All-You-Can-Eat deal for $32 which included practically everyone on the menu. See my review!

I had a fabulous lunch at The Lobby in the Peninsula Hotel.  The scallops were wonderful as well as the crab appetizer and apple cobbler.

2/23/2012 Yanyao "Imperial Potsticker" N. says:

Had lunch at Naha and Cafe Spiaggia this week. Going to Cafe des Architectes tomorrow.

For dinner, I highly recommend Ceres' Table. It has been one of my favorite restaurants for a while now, and they're doing a $33 menu with any appetizer, entree, and dessert from them menu. Amazing! Do *not* miss the arancini filled with braised goat and tallegio!

2/25/2012 Yanyao "Imperial Potsticker" N. says:

Some restaurants are extending their RW menus! Hooray!

2/25/2012 french i. says:

I find this year's restaurant week rather upsetting.  I found many restaurants who, though required to have a $33 menu when you sign up with the CCTB, are only providing guests with a $44 per person menu.  That's not the requirements of the program with the CCTB.

Then I go to Manny's for lunch today and their 2 1/2 Sandwich special is not 2 1/2 sandwiches - it is (and this is how they should have written it) 2 - Half Sandwiches (but they wrote it 2 1/2), 2 soups and 2 potato pancakes for $22 - the regular price is $23.90.  I would have saved a whopping 90 cents per person if I had continued with their special but thought better of it.  Spoke to their manager later and he doesn't understand that restaurant week gives back to the citizens of Chicago with some significant discounts.  He is only concerned with his dinner traffic rather than giving back to the dining community in the city.  It's sad how many restaurants took advantage of things this year.

2/26/2012 David "The DAGAT Guide" L. says:

@french: Dinner can be either $33 or $44 (http://www.opentable.c...). Why would anyone offer 2.5 sandwiches?

My CRW reviews: Boka and The Lobby were excellent. Vie was dreadful.
