What/Why:
Like going to cultural events but wished they had something a little more fun and zany?

Or have you gone to anime conventions and wished there was more actual Japanese content?

Kotatsu offers a unique blend of traditional Japanese cultural festival elements, combined with the fun of an anime convention. Attendees can look forward to a variety of Japanese cultural demonstrations, foods, workshops, tutorials, and general culture throughout the day. During evening hours however, the convention will shift towards much more fan-based panels, events, and performances more typical of what you might find at other anime conventions.

In order to provide the best possible experience to attendees, there will be several types of passes:
-The Weekend Pass provides full access to the convention until late into the evenings and is good for both days.  Passes are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
-The Culture Pass provides access from 9:00-5:00 and is good for only the one day.  Passes are $10 and only available at the door.
-The Children's Pass is for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult attending the event and is good for the day from 9:00-6:00.  Passes are $5 and only available at the door.

Participate in a tea ceremony, imbibe on Japanese beer, or learn about Kabuki and the history of Japanese bondage.  Test your abilities in a sumo suit or relax in the anime and AMV room.  Saturday night's concerts will be by Kieran Strange and Final aNix.
