Hey Buffalo foodies! I've got two FREE tickets to this event. Interested? Post a comment to this thread telling us why you'd like to attend. Only yelpers with a real name/photo are eligible. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, February 21 before noon.

2/9/2012 Rebecca "Gingersnap" D. says:

I'm so totally excited for this! I already purchased my ticket so I'll let everyone else have a stab at winning. I can't wait to hear from all the folks! I've been wanting to get more involved in food blogging and social media. :)

2/20/2012 Karen "i think i have a coupon for that...." Z. says:

I was going to pay the 8 bucks cuz that's a price I can actually afford and I do like to support buffalo efforts when my pocketbook allows; however, no one has responded to Ryan's offer...so here I go!

When I read this event posting I was stoked...and for a few different reasons.
I need to expand my social media horizons.  I'm contemplating a career change and my understanding of social media is extremely one dimensional; I'm hoping this event will add to my schema because, well, social media is here to stay and I need to broaden my understanding to see how it might apply to me in the future.  Also, I really need to step up my blogging game--food or otherwise.  And this event's focus might light a fire under my butt.  I'm also excited to see how this event is going to be run, and to perhaps learn a little more about the Social Media Club of Buffalo.  Oh, and most importantly (and the reason why the hubs agreed to join me haha).....
I have yet to try any food from a food truck (although we personally know the owners of two of them!)  Couldn't ask for more out of a Wednesday evening outing...knowledge, fun, and food!

I'd like to attend because I love food, and I have yet to try any of the food trucks! Every time I see one I am not hungry or more often broke.

2/20/2012 Coralie "CoCo" B. says:

I'll be out of town for this one!

2/20/2012 Derrick "Omakase" C. says:

I'd like to attend this b/c:
1) I'm always too late to land tickets for Nickel City Chef.  I'm a huge Top Chef fan and the two look very similar.  I'm such a big fan that I put together UB's Iron Chef event last year and am currently on the lookout for judges for this year's event going down in March.  Pretty much everyone at this event, from the vendors to the speakers, is someone I'd love to have on board to help us out.
2) I'm a huge supporter of the local food truck movement.  From SF to LA, stalking twitter accounts for late-night eats is one of my favorite pastimes.
3) I'm obviously all about the social media/food scene.  Anything to boost Yelp awareness in Buffalo, you can count me in for!

2/21/2012 Brian "Legend" W. says:

The only thing that would be better than food blogging and social media. Is judging a food competition and blogging about it. Furthermore, to be connected to your local market and knowing what is happening is an amazing feeling, knowing that by going out to eat at a restaurant that supports its local businesses. You are in turn helping families in your own backyards make a living. Not to include the environmental factors that go in to buying locally grown foods. Social media if used properly can be a very powerful tool that can connect the business to the customer directly. I need to hear what they have to say! Hope to see you all there. Cheers!
