I was actually trying to get my smog test done down the street at Quality Tune Up. I was stoked to find a $40 coupon (+$8.25 certificate fee) on their website and was disappointed when they told me their smog machine (or whatever) wasn't working. My payment is already late (oops!) and I didn't want to go back there another day so I turned to Yelp to find a good place nearby. My search led me to Green Smog Check, literally a few blocks down the road. I was greeted by a friendly man who asked how I'd heard about them. I told him through Yelp and was given the $40 deal for the test AND certificate, which was $10 less than the place down the road.

I handed my keys over to the friendly man and 10-15 minutes later, I was on my way, certificate in hand.  I'll be back in two years.

Also, random, but said friendly man found a tea bag under the hood of my car.  It took me 3 years of having my license to even know how to pop my hood up, so I'm not tinkering around and/or enjoying an afternoon spot of tea near the hood of my car on a regular basis, but I still appreciate his attention to detail.  And I still wonder how the hell the tea bag got there in the first place.

Anyway, five stars.  Highly recommend!

Now for the most part this place has good reviews and i thought i would take my car here for a smog test since i only live a few blocks from here.  I just got a car from out of state and it needed to be smogged before i can register it.  Mind you the car is completely bone stock and nothing is modified.  Now this review is to the person who is vienamese here and was working on me car.  Not anyones else wo works there since he is the one I am complaining about.  So please if your reading this i dare you to please chime in at anytime and i'll give you more of an ear full.

He opens my hood and points to the turbo and talks to his employee and nods his head with a bad sign.  He said no this car is modified and i cannot smog it.  I was like what no no this car is stock and it comes with a turbo.  i even brought the service manual, showed him all the stickers on the car that say turbo, even had the original MSRP invoice and to show him it's turbo. He didin't even want to look at it.

I asked him for his name and license number and he didn't want to give it to me.  what kind of crap is that?  I think if you are unfamilar with a car or don't know then just tell the customer and don't look like an idiot!  I'm in process of report him so he can get re-trained or investigated.

i took it down to another smog shop and they were all able to look up the diagram and they even knew it came with a turbo.  Oh yeah and it passed too.

3/13/2012 Purchased a Yelp Deal

I hate this place.  I would give this negative stars if I could.

I purchased for $29 for $59 from yelp. On the business website it stated that a smog check would cost $29.95. When we arrived to the location, the owner stated that it would cost us additional $20 for an evap test for older vehicle. I suggested that it should be covered by $59 certificate that I had purchased on yelp because the smog check cost $29.95 + evap test $20= $49.95 which is still less than $59 certificate. He refused to honor the certificate and stated that no where in the certificate does it say free evap test. This did not make any sense to us and we suggested that it also does not EXCLUDE the evap test on the certificate. The owner continued to harassed us about the certificate the entire time and was yelling at us infront of other customers (although we spoke to him in a very professional way).  He also asked to see both of my ID and my husband's ID which I've never encountered at all since I've always purchased yelp deals. We ended up paying extra to stop him from harassing us although he did not stop until we left (30-45 mins).

NEVER AGAIN.  BTW he refused to say that he was the business owner when we asked him.  I can't believe that someone would run their business this way and would yell at a customer infront of other customers.

I went to this place after seeing the $20 promotion that I saw on google. The place was clean and fast and the man behind the counter just honored the price as soon as I said I saw the deal in google.
I was out of there in around 10 minutes.. The total price that I paid was around $30 after adding the state taxes and fees if you pass, which my car did. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
The negative reviews about this place forget that there is a state tax or fee if you pass. Its not charged if you dont pass and every smog place charges it as a state requirement if you pass.
