Always a deal going on and so worth it!
AMAZING: Walnut shrimp, house salad (so big with delish toppings), orange chicken, Moo Shu Pork
MEH: Lemon Roll (just ok)
Really attentive service, warm yet contemporary atmosphere, great prices! LOVE IT
Came here for Dinner on a Friday.
Service: Service was good, no complaints getting food, water, beer, and sake on time. The server was nice and quick to bring food and check.
Food: We ordered some Edamame and a couple rolls. The Edamame was not very good, which is surprising considering its hard to mess up Edamame. My guess is it was over-boiled. Ordered a couple rolls and they were OK, not great.
I think 3 stars is fair based on the quality of food vs the price we paid (no Groupon). BTW: having printed Groupon disclaimers posted all over the walls is pretty tacky.
I wont be coming back for the simple reason that it just wasnt worth the money.
I am writing this review based solely on their terrible service. I would review the food but I never got the opportunity to try it... not even taste the water.
We made reservations for 7 this past Mother's Day. We saw all the great reviews and had to try it out since my mom loves sushi. We arrived and were seated in the back corner. The ambiance was nice and relaxing. By the time we were seated we never saw our waitress again.
Some 10 minutes later (10 minutes after being seated and not seeing your server feels like a lifetime) we start to get restless. We are hungry, thirsty and want to get the dinner started since it was Mother's Day after all. We saw 2 waitresses serve the tables in the front of the restaurant several times and not once did they look in our direction. Finally, some 15 minutes later, one of them noticed us and approached us asking, "Hi.... I'm sorry, has no one even gotten you waters yet?" While the rest of the party answered politely, she followed up with, "...Um, I'm sorry but our take out orders are really busy so we're trying to get those taken care of."
Did she just say that?
The fact that she noticed us and apologized would have been sufficient enough. Instead she blamed it on other people's orders who weren't even in the restaurant! That was like adding salt to the wound. You mean to tell me, the people who made reservations and waited patiently on Mother's Day don't get the customer service they deserve? Well, my apologies for taking an interest to the restaurant.
After waiting (again) for the waters the waitress claimed she was going to get, I had had enough. I ushered the rest of my family up and out of that restaurant. Walked down the street and were greeted by a nice gentleman at an Italian restaurant (Bernini's Bistro) where we enjoyed a fabulous Mother's Day dinner, great customer service and all.
Best kept secret is the Protein roll. No rice or filler crap like cucumbers. Just fish, fish, fish and then some fish to round things out. All for $13. Awesome.
Super fresh fish and they are generous with the portions.
It has a quiet atmosphere and it's rarely crowded so it's great for chilling out with your squeeze. Every time I'm in SD I make sure to stop by - great place!
