We came here for panninis. Hubby had their pork sandwich. I had the eggplant sandwich. Both sandwiches were huge and the bread was fresh and soft. For about ten dollars, you can get a great sandwich with a drink and salad/chips. They don't carry the tuna sandwich anymore. That used to be my favorite. Service was fast and friendly and their miniature Italian cookies are the best. They look like hamburgers with chocolate in the middle and the buttery cookies are fragrant and crumbly. They are 50 cents each but well worth it despite the small size. It's the size of a quarter.
The space is small and I wish they would open the windows as it was pretty stuffy inside on a hot day. Otherwise, a great place for sandwiches!

This place was awesome! They had one of the best red blends we've had anywhere and the prices were phenomenal.
The parking is a little rough right now due to some construction but the food and drinks are worth it!

I live down the street from this place. Every time I have been there, I have gotten great service. The breakfast sandwiches are good. The staff are friendly. And the prices are fair and reasonable.
It's unfortunate they don't have hours on the weekend or we would be there on weekends too.
I also question the review by Nancy S who claims to have witnessed staff clear shards of glass from a salad before serving it to a man. In her review, she said she didn't speak up about it and allowed another human to eat the salad, KNOWING there might be shards of glass in it. Something is wrong with this woman and her review. I hope I'm not the only one who questions it.

I went into this place with high panini expectations. My panini was delicious - not gonna lie. However...
While I was waiting for said delicious panini, I witnessed one of the servers break a glass next to an awaiting salad. I watched as she fished out the shards of glass from the beautiful caprese salad (which looked great until the glass made it sparkle...) She took her time to ensure all the glass was out and then I watched in gasping horror as she SERVED IT to the unsuspecting patron!
The gentleman who ordered it had some and if my friend hadn't have held me back, I would have screamed at the top of my lungs what I had witnessed. As I was about to throw a fit, he called the server over, they had a little chat and she removed the salad.
I will not eat here again. My panini con pollo was delicious but now I am scared.

E-22 is an awesome cafe near the heart of Emeryville! It has high-quality food (inspired by Southern Italy), stellar service and friendly staff. A few notables are:
-Illy coffee (brewed to perfection)
-Roasted pork panini with mixed greens (meat is ultra tender and greens are always fresh)
-Pepperoni pizza (reminds me of places I've tried in Europe)
Also, if you come by on Friday afternoons, they typically have happy hour with live music, serving a wide selection of wine and beer.
