I wanted late night pizza and they sell by the slice.

It looks like the pizza is pre made with cheese, and then toppings are put on it, covered with more cheese, and heated.  I don't really have a problem with that, but the toppings did not "mesh" with the pizza.  It wasn't a slice of gooey goodness.  Everything was layered.  Cheese, topping, cheese.  The top cheese didn't melt and blend with the bottom cheese, so everything sat in layers, which isn't too bad, except the crust was cracker thin!  It was so thin and crispy, exactly like a cracker.  I like thin crust, but they take it to a new level.

I used to order from this place all the time cause their salads were always plentiful and loaded.  Ordered dozens of times, I'm sure.  Never again.

On the website for the business it states clearly that the minimum amount needed to place an order for delivery is $8.00. Prior to today, I have never had an issue with this. Tonight I placed and order exceeding the delivery minimum using the online system, as I have before.  Fifteen minutes later the business called me and said that the delivery minimum was actually $15 -- this is something that has never happened before.

I said I had never had an issue and that I had placed orders using the advertised $8.00 minimum before with no problem.  The call was then transferred to a different person than who originally called me, who did not identify themselves as management or any sort of supervisor -- they told me that they had only one delivery driver that day, and that my address was 'too far' for the $8.00 minimum advertised.  I said that, again, I had never had an issue before.  That I had ordered from the company many times before using the $8.00 minimum, and that this seemed very suspicious.  I said I would not be ordering from their business if they were not going to keep true to their online advertising, and that their understaffing did not warrant increased prices or policies.  I cancelled my order.

This seems like a bait and switch tactic at best, and staff dishonesty at worst.

First time ordering here.  I ordered only because I got home after working until 11:00, no food in the house, and I was famished.  I was so glad to find a pizza place with good reviews open until 3:00.

I placed an online order at 11:58, and the pizza did not arrive for an hour. The website told me 40 minutes, but I realize that things can happen, maybe the delivery person was having a hard night or had a flat or something.

When I got to the door of my apartment building, the delivery man was very short with me.  First, he seemed put off about my payment method.  I had paid with a credit card, which I pointed out to him both on the receipt and the sticker on the pizza box.  I didn't understand why he was mad.  He said he hadn't run it, so he wouldn't get a tip.  Not my fault!  If I had cash, I wouldn't have used a credit card.

I wasn't upset, I was confused and tired, so I signed the slip. He then complained to me about how he couldn't reach me on my cell phone, and showed me how he'd called me five times and it went to voicemail. True, it was off and I didn't realize it, my bad.  But my address, with my apartment #, was on the box and the slip - which was how he got a hold of me (by buzzing).  I pointed that out to him, and he complained that he had to walk up and down the block to find the place, because there were no building numbers.  First of all, I live on a VERY short street with exactly three apartment buildings and no other buildings.  Second, as he agreed, my building DID have a number.

Result: soggy pizza for me, and a very cranky delivery person.  Yes, I had my phone off, which I was not aware of, but if this is the opposite reaction a delivery person should have if they're running 20 minutes late because they can't read a building number.  I didn't complain to DaVinci's - I wasn't even mad at the guy, until he started laying into me. Then I just took my pizza and left.  I wasn't going to get in an argument with him at 1:15 in the morning.

I'm sorry if the guy had a rough night, but luckily, I'm moving this weekend and won't be ordering from Da Vinci's again.

PS, the marinara was nearly non-existent (double checked to make sure I ordered marinara, I did) and the pizza was totally bland.
