Stay here for business fairly regularly and it is a favorite in all of my stays.
Location location location... While not directly controlled by ongoing hotel staff this place is perfectly situated. Right on Robson street and short walk to the ocean you get the best of Vancouver's natural and man-made attractions. Also some interesting sights from the adjacent apartment buildings at times... nuff said.
The hotel has a wide variance of rooms from large suites to smaller ones. They are tastefully decorated (I'd call it a South Beach feel) showing a small amount of wear but either way you get a small kitchen of some sort, super comfy beds, and great flat screen TVs with hookups for your laptop even. The workspace desk chairs are too short for the desk, but who wants to sit at a desk in Vancouver. Many rooms have a separate bedroom which is awesome as you can shut the door and be totally removed from everything.
The staff are exceptionally helpful, gym is decent (weight room a bit small), free wine tasting nightly, and great free coffee in the mornings.
Only detractor might be the windows seem 'thin' both in terms of drafts and noise. I've never had a problem with sleeping myself but have heard some complain (picky picky).
I'd rate this a 4.5 star, but since it's either 4 or 5 and due to the great staff and perks like microwaves, entertainment hookups and free wine... 5 stars!
