Hands down the best liquor store in Calgary. Here's why:
Cool location in the old brewery administration building. It's a massive, cool space and it's now full of an insane selection of wines / beer / and other. They have everything, and if they don't they will get it for you.
They have regular tastings of beer and wine and frequently have something open to share when you go to browse. Other nice features are special monthly cases of wine or beer that make great gifts as well as weekly deals to email subscribers.
The staff are always helpful and the selection and space sets it apart from anywhere else in the city. -

I have purchased from them a number of times. When I don't have a bag of my own, they place the bottles in their bags (good so far, you say). When I bring my own re-usable bags, they leave my purchases on the counter and walk away or move onto the next customer. I often have several bottles and this means I'm standing there a while bagging them. I'm not feeling lazy, but in the moment I am noticing a conspicuous discrepancy. What do they have against re-usable bags? Are they too hi-brow to place their bottles into my grocery store bag? Are they anti-earth? Do they have prince/princess fingers that can't touch a potential germ hazard? Maybe I'm missing something reasonable, but I just don't get it.

This place has a larger beer selection than any other place I've been to in Calgary (am comparing to Dalhousie Co-op, Willow Park, Kensington Wine). They had various kinds of Dogfish Head and Lagunitas beers which is what I was after the day I went.
The guy working there was super friendly and gave my friend and I some recommendations.
Prices seemed average. I definitely don't see it as a discount type shop.
I can't judge their wine selection or their website service as I have only been in the retail location and only for beer. -

Arrogant. I asked the clerk the price of a wine and was told $20. Great. I confirm that it's about $20. I go to the till it's $25. I'm told by the cashier that's he's just a cashier so don't bother him...I speak again to the clerk and he is dismissive and gives attitude... yes it's only $5 but the whole affair left a bitter taste

A warehouse like facility at the edge of the core in an industrial setting. It seems to be able to pass on some cost savings.
The web site offers a list of products available for order that has the advantage of having Peter Straus and Wine Spectator ratings. You can order for delivery or pickup through the web site and you can save wines you are interested in a personalized online list (wine cellar) that lets you track what you like and make comments.
