Some colleagues of mine were looking for Zumba classes close to our office in Burnaby, and we tried this place. The workout is great, you will sweat a lot and will just go all out trying to keep up, but in a good way. I've taken zumba classes at other places, and let me just say it's good that I did to learn some of the basic moves. The instructors are just a burst of energy. At first the dark and club lights are a bit cheesy but then you realize you just are trying to follow and not caring about how you look in the mirrors. I highly recommend this place if you want to take zumba at a faster pace, and they do have beginner classes if you are starting out. I only wish they had a bit more hip-hop moves, but then again I'm like usually the only dude in the class every time I go so my opinion is a bit of a minority.
Only negative is, you can bring your kids which parents do, but unfortunately they tend to run around all over the place at times, and may sometimes get in the way of the class which can be annoying, so I recommend taking the classes after 7pm or the weekend where there are less kids. Also sometimes the floor can get really slippery with your sweat and you may slip depending on your shoes. When it's dark you can't see the ground so I'm still trying to figure out which shoes are the less slippery or is the floor, I'm not sure if it's my shoes, but sometimes other people have the same problem. I think they need to buff or wax the floor a little better maybe, I don't have this problem with other dance studios, so I'm not sure if others have this issue.
Either way this place is a great workout, drop in is like $12 and you can get 10 class punch cards for ~$80. There are a lot of classes to fit your schedule and the instructors are great. I think this is a great fitness class to compliment my hip-hop classes that I do, except being a dude I tend to be a bit ugh when those moves get feminine, but hey it's a great workout and that's why I like zumba. If you like salsa and Latin music check it out. -

This is a great place for Zumba in the Burnaby area. Drop in's are $11 plus tax, or a 10 class, punch card for $70 plus tax. They have a 2 week unlimited trial for new members for $29.00. I usually go to the beginners class as I'm still new at this. Great work out regardless. I've also tried the toning class, which is great for those who don't want to do too many dance moves. I love the fact that the classes are dark with disco lights, as this way you're not as self conscious about what you look like in the mirror. The two instructors Ivy and Silvi are great and energetic. My one request would be to add more hip hop to the routines.
