Zipperz is has got to be my most favorite dancing/drinking club.  The reason for this is because when you go to Zipperz, you are there to get drunk, dance and socialize.  There is no pretention or douchewaffles, it is just a crowd of fun people there who are drinking, dancing and having a good time.  And having a good time is indeed what everyone there accomplishes.

Bestie and I made this our regular haunt for awhile and I will always look back fondly on our misadventures there.  I will never forget the night he was putting the moves on this hottie and it turned out that hottie was in fact straight and actually after me.  That was how I earned the title of The Only Girl In the World Who Can Walk Into A Gay Club And Get Picked Up By A Guy.

Plus as an added  bonus theres no cover and drinks are fairly inexpensive.

Your friendly gayborhood Zipperz, serving you drinks, drag and dancing every single night of the week. In a perfect world, every Toronto neighbourhood should have one.

I am actually only well-versed with Zipperz on Wednesday nights (yes, I go out on Wednesdays... also on Mondays!) for their weekly Drag King events and young lesbians galore. While the regular Zipperz draws in the older gents to meet and mingle, each Wednesday night it is turned into an estrogen fest with traces of T.

Confused who a drag king is? A female-identified person who dresses up in male attire (and sometimes trans folks too) to lip-synch and dance to radio hits (usually with male vocals - think along the lines of LMFAO). It is not usually a flashy glam show like the drag queens, but with a bit of an open mind you'll be having fun in no time. I've brought my straight friends (men and women) here on numerous occasions and everyone ends up having a gay ol' time.

From time to time, they host a Search for Kingdom where several newbie Kings will perform for a good time. Always ends up in a packed house... definitely worth catching one of those!

Bonus: average priced drinks ($6 domestic) and no cover charge!

Just say Emily sent you ;)
(Just kidding, they don't know my name)

went there with few friends for some birthday dancing=)

not really sure how did we get there as we were led inside through the back door and I would totally be lost would I try to find this entrance all on my own.

inside it was a bit too hot.... well the crowd was huuuuge so no wonder it added to the hotness level. also very dark so I can't say much of the ambiance. but the music was great for dancing and I totally enjoyed it.

I MUST go back there to watch drag shows. They serve reasonably priced drinks and have a nice ambient - you can seat outdoors, on their balcony, on the bar, on cozy sofas, you choose.

They don't have waiters and have this problem of not offering a drinks menu (I hate with all my heart this habit. I don't know what's on your shelves and hate asking for prices - that's what menus are for). So I believe seating on the bar is the most intelligent thing to do.

A friend of mine told me the prices drop during the day. So early drinking on weekends is recommended.

A.k.a. Zipperz Cell Block. Drag shows during the week, dancing on weekends. Zipperz attracts an older crowd. It's a staple on church street. Laser show is cool. Sound system rocks. Front bar is host to piano bar with various artists.
