Review from David M.
Toronto, ON
This great store/gallery moved from Queen St. to this new Kingston Rd. location.
Cheryl has lovely (mostly) silver jewelery, made by Canadian artists in their own studios. She also exhibits art from Canadian artists on her walls.
She'll tell you all about the artist's process on the piece you're interested in, and a little bit about the artist. It's great stuff, and one-stop shopping for gifts.
Mostly women's jewelery, but she also has some men's rings, cuff links etc. A REALLY nice store. (The custom display cases are works of art in themselves.)Listed in: 5-star Reviews
Specialties
Our artists will design and make custom wedding and engagement rings, re-model your old jewellery into a new contemporary piece and repair your broken treasures. If you can't find exactly what you want, perhaps you would like to commission an artist to create something special for you.
History
Established in 2003
Zilberschmuck was founded in 2003 and showcases contemporary fine craft. The gallery brings together finely crafted artisan jewellery, glass, wood, ceramics, sculpture and visual arts. All work represented by the gallery is produced by artists living and working in Canada. On our website you have the option of shopping on-line or browsing all the artists the gallery represents, but only by visiting the gallery will you see the wide range of styles, techniques and designs available.
In 2004 Zilberschmuck established the annual national juried exhibition of fine jewellery and metalwork. The themed competition is open to both professional and student metal artists and has included artists from all over Canada. As well as the annual national show Zilberschmuck hosts a number of solo and group exhibitions along side the artists currently represented by the gallery.
