Review from Nicole F.
I used to live near this place and loved it! I really miss it but I went back the other night because I was in the area.
It is usually pretty crowded but I was there on a fireworks night so it was pretty empty.
The avocado and brie quesadilla is SO RICH. I have ordered it a few times and never once have I been able to finish it.
This time I ordered the veggie ensemble sandwich. It was gigantic and there was no way I could finish that thing. Pretty good though! It doesn't compare to my beloved (and oh so fattening) quesadilla, but it still did the trick. The fries were just the way I like them, some were crispy and some were soft and mushy.
My friend and I washed our food down with some pints of beer that they had on special. I think it was Sun God Wheat Ale. Very good. In my opinion at least, though I am not a beer snob. I just know I don't like dark beers.
Our server was very friendly and attentive and our glasses were never empty.
I recommend this place! I wish I still lived near it. I practically lived in it about 3 summers ago. -

3.5 but I'll round up.
We strolled down to Zigz last night after failing in our attempt to find walking distance sushi with less than an hours wait. This ended up being a good thing because sweet mother of god I'm completely acclimated to Southern California and I just about froze my tah-tahs off yesterday. Warm and hearty was exactly the food selection the doctor ordered.
I chose the lamb burger with a side salad. The burger was thick and juicy and was topped with a generous portion of grilled mushrooms and the usual fixings. The burger was served on a crusty roll which soaked up the meat-juice perfectly with zero sog. No one wants a soggy burger.
The side salad wasn't your usual handful of iceberg and shaved lettuce - it was a nice serving of mixed greens with roasted red peppers and a balsamic vinaigrette. I was quite impressed. They have a great selection of beer on tap and dollar off martinis on Friday as well, so dinner for four with drinks came in just under $100. I'd for sure go back for the burger.
I've docked a star because the service was a bit slow. It's a small place, sure, but on a Friday night when there isn't an empty stool in the house you'd think they'd have more than one person running the food.Listed in: The Vancouver Edition

A friend asked me to meet here for a couple drinks on a Monday evening, and it was much smaller than I expected. All the tables save for one, were filled.
I didn't have any food because I was a bit dismayed with the crowded space and the beers on tap were $5.75 (my friend assured me beers were cheap, and that is not cheap). This place does seem more like a very small diner more than a place for a couple of beers. -

If you want to take somewhere out to a flashy restaurant to impress them Zigz is not your the place. If you want to go somewhere with awesome food and great beer get your butt down to Zigz ASAP. Their food is simple, fresh and yummy. Definitely try the roasted garlic and brie appetizer it is so good! Their soup of the day is always house-made and has some serious kick. The pasta dishes are very satisfying, especially the salmon penne. They have Dead Frog beer on tap (a local brewery) and the game is always on. The decor is outdated- I would say late 90's and some of the clientele can be a bit sketchy but the food and service more than makes up for it. A great place to go hang out in your joggers and fill up on comfort food.
